Apple's P.O.V

I stay outside Cameroon's room looking at what he was doing. He is going to be doing his math homework soon. If you haven't yet understood. I'm literally flying and reading Cameroon's mind. Yeah, fiction you say but it's true.

Oh god! Now I have to do my math homework. Do I have to? I better. Don't want to look like an idiot in class.

I read his thoughts.

I'm too lazy to get--- Woah. How did I do that?

Woah! How did he do that? Like, I officially am not the only one with supernatural powers. YES! There is someone else.

To think the other kid like me is Cameroon. Let me give you a brief description of this guy.

Have you ever seen in the movies, where there are neighbors? Have you noticed they always argue?

Have you seen that they can be very competitive for the tiniest reasons? Like, who has the best lawnmower? Or, Who has the cleanest house? Whose brownies has a better scent? Which son/daughter has better grades?

If that's what you've seen in the movies. Then, I guess I live in a movie. Because my life has always been like that.

Cameroon Pillar, my only enemy. I was introduced to him as my enemy. He is the son of the opposite party. He is my neighbor. His and my room's window is just opposite each other.

Whereas for me. I'm Apple Shade, the only girl child for the 'Shade' family. I was born with supernatural powers. I knew about since I was very young. I've basically mastered it by now.

Born with powers I hid it as a secret. I guess if you can fly, people would think I'm not human. And, reading minds is fun, so It's better to keep that hidden.

Getting to know that there is someone else who has supernatural powers too got me excited. All my excitement had me thinking I should meet him tomorrow. Let's see how it goes.

I fly back to my room, it's not so far but still. While getting in through the window I bump my head. One of the things I have yet not mastered passing all these years.

----------

Next morning I get up at 9:30 a.m. I get dressed, and go downstairs. I look at the shocked expressions on my parents faces. It's a Sunday morning. I don't think there is even one parent that'd not be shocked if there high-school going child is up before noon.

I clear my throat to speak, "I'm going out." I head out as I know my parents are never going to bother ever. They never really care about me, so I have the advantage of going out anywhere I want.

I have never been to Cameroon's house... EVER. I know you think it's weird, probably you and your neighbor must be best friends. I stand on the porch of 'The Pillar's' house. Here goes nothing.

"Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Pillar. Is Cameroon there?", they stare at me confused. "It's regarding a school project" I continued. They just make way for me to enter in. "He's in his room" Mrs. Pillar says trying to sleep. I ask "Of course, Can I kno---." "Up the flight of stairs first room to your right" She says sipping her coffee.

----------

"Wake up! Wake up! WAKE UP!" I scream as I sit at the end of his bed. "I'm up--- Wait what are YOU doing here?"

I then read his mind.

This will not be a good start to the day.

"I'm not here to ruin your day!" I defend myself. "Huh?" He asks confused.

She is creeping me out!

"Me? Cree--- I mean. I wanted to talk to you. It's something very important" I say. "You? Talk to me? Sure..." I could see his sarcasm. "Can we please go to some other place and talk? I don't find your house comfortable" I spoke. "I know my house is way more comfortable than yours" He says.

That'll show her.

"Please? It's very important" I say. "Okay" He says arrogantly.

Why Cameroon? Why are you doing this to yourself? Well, she said please. But, still Cameroon. It's one thing that you hate her, and another thing that your going out with your enemy.

I couldn't help but laugh. "What're you laughing for?" He snaps at me. "No, You look better without your shirt" I say only for him to react though.

See, this is how you get girls. You be nice to them, they tell you the truth.

"I'm still your enemy though!" I say as he turns his face into a frown. As usual it's victory to me so I smile.

----------

"So, what did you want to talk about?" He asks me as we take a seat on the empty park bench. "Well, I saw you doing your math homework yesterday" I say. "Are you telling me your stalking me?" He asks his face quite not easy to understand.

"No, I saw how you took your math books" I say. Silence arises. I break the silence "I know you think it's unbelievable. But listen. I too have some supernatural powers." "I knew you always talked crazy" He says.

"Try to underst-- Where did you go?" I say as he immediately disappears and then re-appears. "You can turn invisible! Cameroon your so lucky" I say. "What are you talking about?" He asks so confused.

"If you don't believe what I'm talking about... Then I'll prove it. I have the power to read minds. Think of a sentence, I'll tell you what you're thinking!" I say. "OK" He replies.

Hmm, what do I think.

"Hmm, what do I think" I say. "Hey! That wasn't the sen-- Oh! You proved it to me alright"

Wow! She is actually not lying.

"Excuse me! I'm a good girl. I don't lie" I say. "Next time I think something, remind me you can read my mind!" He says laughing. "So, I can fly too" I say. "What? No way!" He says getting up. "I can!" I say getting up too.

Woah! That's something I'd like to see.

"I can show you later. But, the point is, I'm going to help you master your powers. Teach when to use it and when not to" I say. "I still don't get it. Why did I listen to my parents?" He says. "Listen to what?" I ask. "Well..." He says longing the 'well'. He continued as I stare at him for an answer,"They told me, I shouldn't ever get to know you no matter what. And... Other bad things about you and your parents."

"It's okay. Before you get into conclusions of How I am, You should get to know Who I actually am" I say with a small smile, "Besides, My parents introduced me to you as an enemy, so I'm not surprised your parents told you all of that."

"You know, your not as bad as I thought. Let's walk back home, it's quite late" He says and I walk with him. "When are my lessons starting?" He asks wiggling his eyebrows. "I don't know. I'll talk to you later. See you soon" I say smiling. "Bye" He says and walks away. "Oh, Cameroon?" I call out. He turns around and says,"Yeah?". "Be careful. There might be a little honey under your study table. Bye!" I say rushing in and closing the front door behind me.
