The smell of drunken laughter and sweat was visible in the enclosed space, it was a mixture of bitter and sweet taste, the bitterness from the alcohol and the sweet from the laughter. Or that's what he put it as. it wasn't crowded, like usual since it was a small bar that was hidden to only the elite people who needed to lift their thoughts off of whatever was bothering them that night.

Whether it was from their spouse getting into an argument with them, a work issue, a family death, or just being a simple alcoholic. either way, no matter what mood you were in, you always ended up with a happy smile on your face from the intoxicating drink that was held in your hand.

That was just one of the effects of alcohol. sometimes it was bad, sometimes it was useful. but most of the time, a lot of dumb decisions were made. like a secret as bad as murder or a confession as good as a crush who you so wanted to be with.

Jooheon saw it all while he worked, he rolled up his black satin button up sleeves and washed the few glasses that laid in the sink in front of him. he watched as people walked in and out, coming in feeling sorry for themselves or leaving with a smile on their face.

He shook his head slowly, a small bitter chuckle biting back in his throat. he was entertained by other people making a fool of themselves. all he had to do was serve drinks and check IDs. it wasn't a hard job, but sometimes it was boring.

he felt a hand on his shoulder while he was ripped away from his thoughts, "You should take the rest of the night off." he spoke, grabbing the last dish from him.

It was his co-worker, who he had always liked because he was fun to talk to but other times he could be cold as a bottle of beer. "I can finish up and then I'll be ready to head out." he nodded, pushing the glass from him and onto the towel because it was dripping wet.

"Whatever you say, you're crazy to want to keep working." he rolled his eyes before he went to the back room, away from the bitter smell in the main room.

Jooheon laughed quietly, hearing the familiar ring at the door. he leaned back from the sink to look at Nick who had just left, "you still got work to do, get out here!" he spoke, watching as the male come into the bar without any reaction, different than what he saw other the past few months.

He didn't have any emotion; none to show if he had gone through a break up, had an argument with a spouse, though he looked too young to be married. or got laid off from his job. his face was blank and tired looking.

his bucket hat that laid on his chocolate brown hair covered his eyes so he couldn't get a clear picture of him. but it added the mystery of him. he chuckled, finishing up his last glass and turning it over to let it air dry on the black towel that was laid down.

Nick leaned over the counter with a smile, "what can I get for you today?" he asked, but Jooheon blurred out the conversation out. he grabbed his things and looked back at the mystery man, sighing quietly because of his familiar he looked.

His eyes squinted but he shook his head, letting it go. "so long, mystery man." he nodded at him, walking out of the door and sighing quietly, "so long, Seven Nights." he looked up at sign that had a dark light coming out from it.

He walked on the concrete ground and got into the car he drove, setting his wallet and phone down on the seat next to him before he started the car up and drove back home, the radio having no good songs at that hour.

He was disappointed, wanting to have something good on for once, it would make him feel something instead of listening to the rain that was settling in on his windshield, he turned on the wipers and pulled into the parking lot, waiting for the rain to set out.
