CHAPTER 2

JACKSON POV:

I slammed my fist against the locker as my team and I moped into the locker room. While the rest of the team was sad I was furious, I had some good passes but got sacked 3 times. My line had let me down and we ended up losing. Coach stormed into the locker room throwing his clipboard on the ground. He proceeded to yell at us about everything that went wrong. After he finished scolding the offence I tuned out what he was saying and focused on my problems. Kate my girlfriend had just dupped me for some hot shot basketball player and it really threw off my game. Obviously. When we were dismissed I sauntered off to the showers. While packing my stuff up Evan came over by me.

“A bunch of us are going out to a club tonight and you’re coming with.” He informed me.

“Really now,” I said, “says who?” I smirked at him.

“Me!” He exclaimed with a big toothy grin.

“Fine I’ll go for a bit.” I gave in. I threw my stuff together and followed the guys out into the parking lot ignoring all of the reporters asking me questions. I hopped in my blue gullwing and followed them to a New York Club.

We got in with no problem and the boys quickly dispersed into the crowded dance floor, the girls fawning over them. Before I could turn around it seemed like the entire club rushed towards me. I guess being the star quarterback makes you popular even if you losted. I talked mindlessly to a few girls and got a few numbers that I would never call. I quickly dismissed myself to go get a drink and threw my hood up so as to not be noticed. I sat down at the bar with an open stool next to me. My head pounded with the beat of the music, being a New York Giant isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I ordered my 3rd drink when a strapping brunette in a blue dress sits down next to me.

“Get me a drink,” She says to the barkeep, “anything will do.” She says. Laying her head in her arms she lets out a long sigh. I finally gave into temptation and tapped her on the shoulder.

“You alright?” I asked her

“No,” she paused taking a deep breath “I hate these clubs, they make my head hurt, these heels are totally uncomfortable, my best friend disappeared into a group of football players, and I keep getting hit on by creepy guys.” she huffed and laid her head on the counter.

“Dont worry my heels are killing me too.” I joked with her. I heard a muffled laugh escape from under her hands.

“I can’t believe I just told a stranger all of my problems.” she frowned still looking at the counter. We talked the rest of the night never making eye contact. She was amazing, and funny, and was crazy sarcastic. When 2:30 AM rolled around I knew this girl so well that when her friend stumbled over to the bar I was disappointed when I thought they were leaving. I hung my head as her friend whispered in her ear. I looked at the man with his hands on the girl in the reds hips. It was Evan. I quickly looked away but it was too late he already saw me.

“Jackson! What are you still doing here? I thought you left hours ago?” Shoot my cover was blown.
