So it's Monday and I have work and then I'm meeting up with Brad since it's the last week of the Christmas holidays. When I went round Brads house I just said we had an argument over that me and Daisy were supposed to go out shopping the next day even though it was a lie, I told him not to mention it to Daisy because she was really upset that I couldn't go. When I got back my mum said sorry and that she doesn't know what to do, Dad has been writing to ask if he could move back in but my mum hasn't replied. His mum and Dad died not long ago and he was a only child so he doesn't really have anywhere to go except with us. I don't know whether I want him back or Not, he is my dad and the truth is I do miss him
I got dressed to go to work said by to my mum and got the bus into town
I plugged in my head phones and started listening to The 1975
A few minutes later my phone went off, it was a message from Brad
One message from Bradley Smith (bws)
Still up for today? Xx
I quickly replied
One message to Bradley Smith (bws)
Of course, on my way to work right now, Can't wait xx
The bus came to a stop as I looked out the window to see this was my stop. I quickly jumped off the bus and headed down the road to the small cafe I work at. I turned off my phone and put it in my coat pocket and entered the cafe
"Ah Maddie, Nice to see you and thanks for doing the early shift" my boss smiled
"Hey Taylor, No that's fine" I smiled back
I needed the money
"Right you go and put your apron on and Luke is here so he will do the coffee making and you take the orders"
"Ok" I said walking over to my apron and took it off it's hook and replaced it with my coat
Once I had my coat on I walked over to the till
"Oh look it's Maddie, you don't normally do this shift" Luke said
Urgh I hate this kid, he has this crush on me and I tried to hard to get different shifts to him, which I did but when my boss Taylor asked me if I wanted to do this shift and it would earn more money I couldn't say no
"Oh hey Luke" I sighed quietly
"Are we ready to open?" My boss shouted through the cafe
"Yeah" we both said
Taylor opened the doors
"So I never see you any more" Luke said trying to be cool
When I said he has a crush on me I also meant he has a crush on every girl he sees
"Yeah I had to change my shifts, you know school and stuff"
"Oh yeah"
Luke graduated last year but still hasn't got a better job
A few minutes later a couple came in ordering a coffee
I can tell today's shift is going to be a long shift
A few hours later I saw Brad come into the cafe
He walked up to the till
"Please may I have a Latte please" he said looking at the board with all the coffees on it pretending he hasn't seen me
"Brad what are you doing here?" I whispered
"Oh Maddie I didn't see you there" he laughed pretending to look surprised
"What are you doing here Brad?"
"My bus came early, you have ten minutes left so I thought why not order a coffee" he smirked "so where's my latte?"
"Luke one latte please" I called over to Luke who was listening on in my conversation
"Your latte will be ready in a minute why don't you take a seat and my college will bring it over for you sir" I said without trying to laugh
"Thank you miss" he smiled and walked away
"I'm not sure I like you talking to him" Luke said to me with his arms crossed
"Were not together! And neither are me and you so make that latte and give it to table 6" I sighed and cleaned up a different table
"Maddie you can go if you want Jessica has just come in for her shift" Taylor said
"Ok thanks" I went to go and put my apron away
"Wait Maddie!" I turned around "your money" Taylor said giving me my money
"Thanks" I smiled and put the money in my purse and got my bag and coat
I walked over to Brad and sat in the seat opposite him
"Hey" i smiled
"What are you doing? You have another 5 minutes" he asked looking confused
"Someone else came early so I wasn't needed" I smiled "maybe it's the busses"
Brad laughed
"Probably"
"Are you ready?" I asked him
He put his coffee down and nodded
We walked out the cafe
"Where to?" He asked
"New look I want some new jeans" I smiled as he sighed
I held his hand and dragged him to new look
Today's going to be a good day
After me and Brad had finished shopping we got on the bus and listened to Arctic monkeys on the bus back, the bus got back around 15 minutes later and then we walked a couple streets until we got back
"Maddie can I ask you something?" He asked
What does he need to ask me
OMG
"Yeah of course"
"My mum asked me if I could ask you if I could come round tomorrow because she is going to newcastle with my dad and I don't want to go"
"Yeah of course" I smiled
"Not like a sleep over or anything just come round sort of thing"
"Brad it's fine"
"Ok well I'll see you tomorrow" he smiled
"Bye" I smiled back as we both walked opposite ways
I walked into porch and dropped my bag on the floor and hung my coat up and walked into the living room to see him sitting there on the couch
"Before you freak out let me explain" he said
