Gone to Some But Not to All

Trigger warning for murder and a ghost:

To most people, Peter Parker had been gone for three years. To Harry Osborn, he had never left. Harry wished he would.

...

Peter Parker was found dead in his Aunt May's house, propped up in a chair right in the middle of the living room with a bullet in his forehead. No one knows who did it. It's been three years.

...

A week after the funeral Harry was in his room when a light glow flickered in the corner of his room. He looked up to see a hazy shape starting to form. Five minutes later, there stood the ghost of Harry's best friend Peter. He's been there ever since.

Normally Harry wouldn't have a problem with Peter being there. Heck, he always loved having Peter around. When he was alive. But ever since he had died, things were different. He hovered behind Harry almost constantly, staying in the corner of Harry's room whenever they were in there. He was always with Harry, always watching him. He gave privacy for things like changing clothes, showering, and using the bathroom but that was it. Everything else was constantly watched. Now, Harry knew how protective Peter was, but he did find it odd that he was the one Peter kept an eye on. Unless he was visiting other people while Harry was asleep. But that seemed unlikely since whenever Harry woke up in the middle of the night Peter hadn't moved from his spot. The main thing that made Harry uncomfortable though was the way Peter watched him. It seemed at first to be an emotionless stare, but if you looked into the ghost's eyes you could see worry, sadness, and pain. It hurt Harry to see it. But maybe the worst part of all was that the once talkative hero hadn't spoken a word at any point in those long three years.

...

It was Peter's birthday today, and as he had done the last few years Harry gave an awkward "Happy birthday" to the ghost. Usually, he would get no response, but Peter lifted his hands and began to make different shapes with them, seeming to have to concentrate very hard on the task. Harry watched in amazement as Peter said 'thank you' in sign language.

"Y-you can talk?" 'Only this way.' Peter was still struggling, but it seemed to be getting easier as he signed more. Peter had convinced Harry to learn sign language with him a few years before he died, and they had used it often. It shouldn't have surprised Harry that Peter might one day communicate this way, but after three years of one sided conversations he had sort of given up. 'I know you probably have a lot of questions, and I'll try to answer them as best as I can, but I need your help.' "...I'm all ears. What do you need?"

Harry was in a state of shock. Peter was easily moving his hands now, telling a long, complicated story. The story of how Peter died. But there was no way what he was saying was true. Maybe someone really had hired the Sinister Six to bring to them. Maybe they had looked down at the bruised and bloody young hero brought before them and tried to turn him to their side. Maybe that person had gotten frustrated with him when he kept saying no. Maybe they had held a gun to his forehead while the villains who had brought him there held him still. Maybe they had pulled the trigger. But there was no way in hell that person was Harry's dad. ...Right?

Hey, this one will have a part 2 at some point.
