Metamorphosis

It has been said that metamorphosis is a rare thing to happen to an ancient one. Let me explain to you what metamorphosis is when it comes to the ancient ones.

When an ancient one undergoes metamorphosis it means they are undergoing evolution. They will envelop themselves in an egg. This egg can vary in its looks, it all depends on the ancient one who is inside of the egg.

Duration.
The duration of a metamorphosis varies per acient one. It might take a month for some but an entire 10 years for the other. The duration of the metamorphosis that they are undergoing also tells you how more powerful an ancient one will become.

For example if an ancient one undergoes metamorphosis for a month, they will maybe only gain 1 new ability or a slightly stronger body. But when an ancient one is undergoing a metamorphosis for years on end, it might mean they will become so powerful that they are able to destroy complete universes and morph them into their own worlds.

The trigger.
An ancient one cant decide whether they will have a metamorphosis. They will need a certain trigger of events when it comes to this sort of thing. By event I mean emotions, a strong feeling of any emotion may trigger a metamorphosis in an ancient one.

Positive and negative.
A strong feeling of positive as well as negative emotions can trigger a metamorphosis in an ancient one. If its triggered by a negative emotion, it is likely that the ancient one will go rampant and do evil things to the world. But when its a positive emotion that triggers the matamorphosis, you usually dont have to worry about the safety of the universe since its likely the ancient one will do good things and protect the universe instead.

Examples of triggers for a metamorphosis.

Negative.
The ancient one is good friends with a regular human for a very long time. They put their trust into them completely but suddenly the human backstabs them and they get enraged and feel an intense sense of hate for this person now. This can trigger negative metamorphosis.

Positive.
An ancient one falls in love with a regular human, the human surprises them big time which make them feel an intense joy in their hears. They will cry tears of happiness. This can trigger a positive metamorphosis.
