(WARNING: Mention of death)
Munhee reached at the hospital after what felt like hours, she rushed to the receptionist to know in which floor her sister was admitted.
She rushed to the third floor, Room No. 312.
In front of the room her parents and Baekhyun were already present. She was the last one to reach because she was in the farthest route.
She could see her parents and Baekhyun drowned in their own thoughts. They looked dead worried. Her heart was pounding so hard, she didn't stop praying even for a second to all the gods out there to keep her sister safe.
Munhee rushed towards her parents, "Mom, Dad, how's she?"
"She's in OT, we have no clue what is happening there." Her father replied in his broken voice. Their father was never the one to show his weakness. Munhee saw him cry only two times in her life.
One, the day Myunghee flew to abroad,
Two, the time when he gave Myunghee's hand to Baekhyun on their wedding.
And today was adding another day of seeing her father cry.
If the strongest member of her family was broken, then the weakest must become stronger. She'll do that for her family.
She kneeled down before her parents, held both of their hands , "Everything's gonna be fine. Unnie will be fine. Don't worry." She tried to console them just the way she consoled herself throughout her journey to the hospital. Her parents nodded while wiping their tears. They directed their eyes toward Baekhyun, who was sitting alone on another pair of chairs. Munhee nodded and made her way to Baekhyun.
He wasn't crying. But considering the redness surrounding his eyes gave that away. He didn't acknowledge her presence when she sat down beside him.
"Where's Miseo and Sarang?" She asked cautiously.
Baekhyun seemed like he broke off from his own trance after hearing her. He confusedly asked, "Huh?"
"Where's the babies?" She asked again.
"I let them stay in our neighbour's house and told him to call my parents to come over as soon as possible. I couldn't contact them because my phone was broken a-after..." He choked on his own words. Then he sat up more straightly. Eyes fixed on the operation theater's door.
Munhee took it as the indication that he didn't want to talk anymore. So she sat there quietly waiting for the doctors to come out with some sort of good news. She wasn't ready for any kind of bad news.
After a few minutes the doctor along with a nurse finally came out of the OT.
Baekhyun was the first to rush to the doctor followed by Munhee and her parents.
"Doctor, how is she? My wife is going to be okay, right?" Baekhyun asked, desperation visible on his face.
The doctor heaved a huge sigh. "Mr. Byun, I'm extremely sorry. We tried our best but.."
"But what? What sorry?" Baekhyun wasn't even letting the doctor finish.
"We couldn't save your wife. The injury was on her head and she lost a huge amount of blood. I'm sorry again."
"No, my child." Munhee's mother cried out followed by silent tears from her father.
Munhee's head was spinning, her heart skipped a few beats that caused immeasurable pain there that she didn't care about at this moment.
