Diligence is a virtue. Diligence is a valuable resource that anyone can cultivate. It describes an unavoidable path to success. It is like fruit that can be cultivated. Diligence is not only restricted to academics alone, but it must be applied to any area of life for success to be seen. As Christians our grace and faith must be done in diligence or else it will be a perfect example of mockery. If we remove diligence from the life of a man, no matter the blessing, it will be wasted. To even access a divine blessing in prayer, you need to be diligent. To build your knowledge, you need to be diligent, so it is important to know how to be diligent by understanding the principles of diligence. If you become diligent, you don't need to look for success, but success itself will identify with you. We can be glad that God did not just create visible things but even many invisible things including principles and the wisest people on earth are those who have found certain principle that works which are called truth, and because it works, it generates results and the mark of wisdom is the products. Principles are like tides of oceans that directs the waters, those who are wise do not move against the tide, the will move with the tide.
Proverbs 22:29
"Seest thou, a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings, he shall not stand before mean men"

From the above text, we can see that God is in search of a man who is diligent, "Seest thou?" God is eager to bless a man of diligence. It is a question of conversation between the father, son and the spirit. This surely is a question raised by the father himself, and he also gave the conclusion that a man who has this virtue will be blessed, and it is only God who speaks and makes it to come to pass.

1. Purpose. Diligence is purpose oriented. It has to have a task in view. It must be applied with a business or work at hand. In fact, no one can be diligent except you find work to do. You don't have to look for the best work to do, you only have to apply your diligence to the best of your effort and success will follow. However, when you find a work or business driven with passion and inspired by God, you will derive pleasure in carrying out the task than in pleasuring yourself. This is just as Jesus derived pleasure in doing the work of the father even more than food as recorded in John 4:32, so also we shouldn't just start any "business" or involvement without any certification from the father.

2.Discipline is a virtue that is goal oriented than pleasure satisfying. We must realize that we can never get to the peak of satisfying our flesh. In fact, when the body gets maximum of pleasure, it gets tired of the pleasure itself. Even in prayer, discipline is required, Jesus Christ said the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak in Mark 14:18. Also, in other aspects of life, we can liken the willingness of the spirit to goals that you set for yourself to achieve success in other aspects of life. Discipline doesn't mean total life abstinence from pleasurable things but rather prioritizing tasks over pleasure.

3.Planning.
Planning ensures efficiency. Planning makes our work to be full of success and error free. Planning is simply defining how task is meant to be done, who should do it, when it should be done and provision of the resources needed to carry out our the task. Proverbs 21:5, says planning leads to abundance.
