Life is short they say. I guess I'd have to agree with whoever first said that. No one told me I would die at 23 from a stupid robber while I was working the night shift at the coffee shop. I was doing research on my political science paper when the bell jingled. A man who was fairly attractive emerged. Nothing about him struck me odd, now looking back I guess the fact he was dressed in all black should have.

"Hum... Your name is Faith Carter?" The woman dressed in a white floor length asked

"No.. Amy Carter." I told her

The woman now looked distraught she grabbed my hand and wriggled our way through a crowd of people dressed in white and the souls they were guiding. She guided us to a door with the numbers 717. When she opened it was beautiful, there were couches along the back wall, a bar in the right corner and a diner type seating area in the other. But mostly there were other people. Either this was a good sign or a bad one.. I just couldn't tell.

"Wait here until I come back, which will probably be awhile." She told me
"Wait, why did you think I was someone else?" I asked

"You're not supposed to be here.." She said "see we have a list.. And your not on it for many years... We made a mistake."

It finally hit me. I wasn't support to die. I was suppose to finish college, get married, have a family.. But it was gone. No diploma. No 'true love'. No kids. I had never wanted kids, but now that I knew it was taken away, I needed them.

"She must've just figured out how bad they are at their jobs." The guy wearing a T-shirt and jeans joked "name's Fisher, car crash.."

"Amy, robber.." I cried

"It gets better... I mean I've been here for about 3 hours. The higher impact on the world the faster u get to leave." He told me

"Leave?" I asked

"Rumor has it that you get to go back home, to your life before... this. There's a catch though, you have 90 days to find your true love, fall in love, have them fall in love with you, and tell them that you love them." he told me

I was baffled.. home... love....

"Amy, come quick" the lady that had left me told me.

"You, you must be important. record time Hellen, 3 minutes. You guys screwed up big." Fisher joke
