“Ah… goodness… Amiya sure is making me do works... and its about time for her to arrive.”

And she’s here, at exactly 10 AM.

“Doctor, Ptilopsis reporting for duty.”

Her face is expressionless and her eyes are widely open and rarely blink. Only her ears that can communicates her emotion.

“Yes, welcome, you’re always on time aren’t you?” She tilts her head to the side. “I asked to come at 10.00 am, was I wrong Doctor?” “Ah-ummm… not really, I’m just surprise that you always make it on time, thank you.” She just sighed and mumble “Cleaning…” As she start cleaning the desk, I continued with my work.

Her oripathy is making her day-to-day life kind of hard, but I think she adjusted well with it, even if she falls asleep suddenly she will sleep in a  standing position until other operators or anybody came across her and sit her down or put her out of harms way, this was my and Dr, Silence’s personal task that we gave to every Rhodes island members.

It was nearing the end of het shift, and i want to thank her for today and the improvement that she made ever since she joined Rhodes Island.

“Ptilopsis.” I wave my hand to tell her to come close to me. Again, she just tils her head without even blinking, many find this particular behavior creepy or unnerving, but I think its cute.
“Yes doctor?” she stand beside my chair, the exact place I want her to be.
“Thank you, Ptilopsis.” I pat her head and lightly brush her hair. She blushes and her ears flicks up and down. “Error, Ptilopsis doesn’t know how to react to Doctor’s hand.”
“You don’t have to. you’ve improved a lot since back then, and I’m proud of you.” Ptilopsis is still with her expressionless face looking at me, but looking at her flickering ears, I think she’s happy.
“I hope that you can continue to support everyone here on Rhodes, and your existence alone is a huge boost in morale for me. So whatever happened in your past, is a both memories and a scar that you’ll have to bear for the rest of your lifetime. But you don’t have to suffer for it, I’m here, Amiya's here and everyone is here for you. I’m happy that you’ve improved.”

As the doctor keep gently brushing my hair with his hand, a question appeared in my mind.
“Can I do more?”
“Can I do better?”
“Can I… be better…?”
After the incident I was told to keep silent about what happens on the tragedy, but I cannot… the emotions, the feelings of those people… Their screams still echoes within my mind! I cannot stop crying, I cannot stop trembling every time the memories return.
Why do humans have to be this complicated, the do ‘emotions’ are so hard to control!
Why do fear shakes the very core of me!
Why I cannot stop the tears from flowing down from my eyes… I can’t understand emotion, they’re nothing but an abstract variables to me.

So I deleted them.

I deleted my emotions, every, single, one. Silence once tried to stop me, but when Saria said “If the emotions you have is hindering you, then get rid of it.” Silence just look down, avoiding my gaze.

But then the Doctor and Rhodes island came and took us in, the Doctor and the operators are very nice despite what happened on the accident. The doctor called my Oripathy cute and charming even though its hard for me to adjust my daily life in Rhodes with this symptoms. But the doctor helped me again and convince me that I can adjust with the new life in Rhodes.

“Ptilopsis is truly thankful of what the Doctor has done to Ptilopsis, and…”
She picks up my hand and put it gently against her check, and her face that time is the most beautiful face I have ever seen Ptilopsis show.
She’s smiling, a warm and genuine smile, I was surprised by it and was left speechless, my body act on its own by embracing Ptilopsis. And she just stay silent.

“Ah before you leave, can you tell Lava or Vulcan to make some cookies for Ceobe? Its her duty first duty tomorrow.”
“Is that all Doctor?” She turns around with her back-to-usual expressionless demeanor.
“Yes that is all and thanks for today.”
“Its my pleasure Doctor, see you again.”
