The Lost Souls

They have a Dam Problem

Zoe drove the tow truck.

Grover sat in the passengers side.

Thalia, Percy and Bianca all sat together in the back.

Somehow this time the truck got the group all the way to the Hoover Dam.

"It's huge," Bianca commented.

"Seven hundred feet tall," Percy said. "Built in the 1930s."

"Five million cubic acres of water," Thalia said.

Grover sighed. "Largest construction project in the United States."

"How do you know all that?" Zoe asks.

"Annabeth, I'm guessing," Bianca asked.

"Yep," Thalia confirms. "She loved architecture."

"Architecture," Bianca gasped. "The union of architecture and water."

"Looks like we have to go in," Percy said.

"Let's fins the dam snack bar," Zoe said as they entered the dam. "We should eat while we can."

Grover cracked a smile. "The dam snack bar?"

Zoe blinked. "Yes, what is funny?"

"Nothing," Grover said, trying to keep a straight face. "I could use some dam french fries."

Thalia and Bianca grinned.

"And I need to use the dam restroom," Thalia said.

"I should buy a dam t-shirt," Bianca added.

Percy started to laugh. Thalia, Bianca and Grover joined in while Zoe just looked at them. "I do not understand."

"I want to use the dam water fountain," Grover said.

"And . . ." Thalia tried to catch her breath. "I want to buy a dam burger."

Then a loud and unmistakable sound took the smiles off of Thalia, Percy and Bianca.

"Moooo."

"Did I just hear a cow," Grover asked.

"I hear nothing," Zoe said.

"You guys go ahead," Bianca smiled. "Thalia, Percy and I just need some air."

Grover and Zoe started into the dam while Thalia, Percy and Bianca walk down to see Bessie.

"What are you doing here," Percy asked it.

"Moo!"

"We have to find Zoe and Grover," Bianca reminded.

"Hey!" they heard a kid yell.

The three of them turned.

A skeleton dressed as a security guard turns. Their face turning back into a skull.

"We have to go," all three of them say.

They turn and run for the visitors center.

They didn't turn to look when more skeleton warriors came from a van.

Percy grabbed Thalia and Bianca's wrists and they joined a tour group in an elevator.

"We'll be going down seven hundred feet," the tour guide informs. "Don't worry folks. It hardly ever breaks." The elevator doors open and before the three demigods can step out the tour guide stops them, she had dark brown hair and tinted glasses, she took the glasses off and they saw stormy grey eyes. "Remember, there is always another way out for those clever enough to find it."

The doors closed.

"You were visited by another goddess," Thalia exclaims hitting Percy's arm.

They started running and Rachel Elizabeth Dare joins them.

"I see we decided to trust him," Rachel comments. "Let's go!"

Rachel pulls them behind a wall and Percy opens his mouth to ask why when Rachel slams her hand against his mouth.

Percy looks back and spots the skeleton warriors that would have caught them had Rachel not

They all run and get onto the elevator.

"We need to leave," Percy gasped as they, now four, run up to Zoe and Grover.

"Who is this?" Zoe asks.

"Rachel Elizabeth Dare," Rachel informs. "I'm a daughter of Phoebe, the Titan of prophecy."

"We just got our burritos," Grover complains.

"Skeletons," Bianca says.

Zoe and Grover stood up.

Rachel quickly grabbed Grover's burrito and threw it at the elevator which opened just in time to hit a skeleton. The head flew off.

"Burrito fight," Bianca shouts.

Rachel grabbed Zoe's wrist who grabbed Bianca's wrist, Bianca grabbed Thalia, Thalia grabbed Percy and Percy grabbed Grover. They ran out to the street with the statues.

"Thalia," Rachel exclaims.

The skeletons make their way towards them.

"What's the plan?" Zoe asks.

The bronze angels stepped in front of them and shielded the group from bullets.

"Man it feels good to stand up," the first angel says.

"Will ya look at my toes?" the other says.

"Get us out of here," Thalia yelled.

Both angels look down at her. "Zeus's kid?"

"Yes!" Thalia exclaims.

"Could I get a please, Miss Zeus's Kid?" an angel asks.

"Please!" Thalia growls.

The angels looked at each other and shrugged.

"I could use a stretch," one decided.

The next thing Rachel, Thalia, Grover and Zoe knew they were being grabbed by the angels and straight up, over the dam and the river.

"You've got to be kidding me," Bianca exclaims.

She sees the skeletons and she throws a dagger at one of them making it burn away.

It stops the others just long enough for Bianca to grab Percy's arm and drag him into the shadows.
