(Y/n) (L/n) POV
Key: (c/n)=crow's name

Hours before~

It was around 7oclock in the morning in an old cabin near a lake. And in it was someone who finally got to sleep in after many years. Today was the day she would be living the offer she accepted, (Y/n) (L/n) as the one and only Ice Hashira. To be completely honest with herself she wasn't looking forward to it. Don't get her wrong she has dedicated herself to this position knowing her life is at risk every day to protect the weak but what kept her in the way is fear. Not the fear of getting hurt, or battling demons but with people. People can be just as cruel in this world without even realizing it, and her extreme shyness was also another struggle that weighed her down in meeting new people. She tried the very first time once with the people blood related to her, it had worked with one of them but one day they took him away from her, the person who's blue side of her haori belonged to. Her older brother. And once he was gone, she lost her reason to ever deserve happiness. (Y/n) ran, ran wherever her short feet could take her, and came across people who didn't believe what she had gone through. Once again the cruel people in this world stopped her from speaking to any more of them. She had given up on meeting new people in fear of losing them again, so she was always alone, away from everyone and the demons who unfortunately exist in her world. Alone in the dark once again. Until a sudden light came, to her surprise a regular young boy around her age. She didn't want anything to do with him at first meeting but this light felt different, he was different. And so she took his hand that was reaching out towards her and they ran, running again wherever fate took them and came across more people. (Y/n) was hesitant at first but something about them three felt like home, a real family. That was her second attempt at meeting people. It's been 10 years since that day, the day that changed everything. It was the day a person helped her find hope in herself. The memories of those times are faded but are a part of her. Despite being an extremely shy and quiet kid since the day she opened her eyes to see the world she was born in, she never regretted meeting them. And in her heart, she can sense them. Their light.

"Come with us, don't worry. We will protect you, I will protect you. Do you trust me?" asked the person. She felt a small hand that was still bigger than hers reaching out to her in the darkroom and despite her fears, she took the hand and was hit with light she never knew she needed.

"Caw caw caw, hungry! Hungry!" called out her crow (c/n). Her eyes widely opened as she was covered in sweat and her hair all messy. She got up annoyed over the fact that her crow was making noises outside just because she was hungry.

"Okay, I'm coming!" She called out as she glanced over at her haori with her brother's plain blue side and Sabito's patterned side.

"Why can't I remember the other person besides them?" She asked herself as she quickly grabbed a piece of bread and went outside to look for (c/n).

"Here that's all I have left for you," (y/n) said. Her crow gladly took it and went to lay down since she was lazy. (Y/n) then went to wash up in the river, thankfully she lived alone in an abandoned cabin that no one remembered about except for her and her crow. She undressed, took a quick bath in the clean, freshwater, and dried off quickly. She always loved the water thinking it was a beautiful element that she felt a connection to.

"Look at how clear and beautiful the water is (c/n)" she called out while ringing out the water from her hair. Hearing no reply she rolled her eyes at how fast her crow would get tired.

"Why did I get a grandma crow?" she giggled to herself with her cute dimples showing. She dried and combed her hair and tied it in a low bun with her curtain bangs out before eating the leftover bread she had left. Yes, the crow was the only friend she has and the only one she talks to so she was grateful to have her. At around 7:30 am she headed out and left the cabin once and for all with her supplies and her crow on her shoulder.
