I giggled as we walked down the forest trail.
"You're such a dork," I said while looking into his deep blue eyes.
"Oh, and you aren't?" He asked, challengingly.
"Well I'm certainly not giving up my comeback queen crown to 'oh, and you aren't'!" I smiled as he encompassed me in his arms, making me feel safe.
After a few seconds, he let go.
"Alright, enough with the ushy-gushy stuff. What's next?"
I looked down at the bucket list I had been carrying in my hands.
"Well, the list says go mountain climbing, but no one said we had to go in order," I smirked with each word I said.
"I mean, it is your list," he flashed a toothy smile at me before laughing once more.
"I realize that, you goof," we both laughed for a little bit, until Jayce broke the silence.
"Seriously though, where do you want to go?"
"Anywhere as long as I'm with you," I watched as pulled me closer and whispered my three favorite words.
"I love you."
"Everyone does," I giggled as I pulled away.
"Really? No, I love you too? I see how it is," I continued laughing as he pretended to be sad.
"Fine," I responded with a fake attitude, "I love you too."
"Finally. Okay, so what are we gonna go do?"
"I'm not sure. Mountain climbing?"
He caressed my face, and I heard him whisper something ever so slightly.
"I miss your long hair. I think I was more upset that you cut it than you were."
"I know, I miss it too," I said, a little louder than him.
"Why'd you cut it anyway?" He asked, considering I never gave him a reason.
"I just needed a change," I lied. I couldn't tell him the truth. I had cancer. Better be prepared, right?
"Well, you look beautiful either way," he smiled once again.
"Thank you," I blushed, "I love you."
"I love you too, Cara Avalon Wolters," he smirked. Jayce always called me by my full name. It just made me smile.
"Alright, to the mountains we go," we continued along the trail, searching for something -- preferably a mountain -- to climb on.
After about 20 minutes of hiking around the forest, we found a small and rocky mountain to climb on.
"Look," I pointed in direction of multiple mountains and trees.
"Okay, babe," he grabbed my hand, interlocking his fingers with mine. We swung our arms back and forth, like children.
Eventually, we got to the top of the mountain.
"Oh my god," I looked at Jayce's face. We were both in awe of the scene.
The water was crystal clear, and caves surrounded it. Beautiful and colorful plants grew on and inside the caves, filling them top to bottom. Water streamed out from one of the other mountains, making the moment more than relaxing.
I looked down at my bucket list, making a small check mark by mountain climbing.
"Jayce, I have to tell you something," I softly spoke.
"You can tell me anything," he replied, a little louder. I took a deep breath, as if I was about to jump into the ocean.
"I have cancer," I whispered so low and soft that I thought he didn't hear me. That was until I heard his soft cries next to me.(A/N new story! i know that i havent updated the way i loved you in ages, but i promise i will! for now enjoy this and dont forget to vote & comment! 💕)
