Y/N's POV *Slight smut warning*
Thankfully, the rest of the day was calm and comfortable. Chris offered to stay the night, wanting to make sure I felt safe. Of course I said yes, I'd never pass up a chance to spend the night with him. "Can you make me a sandwich?" I laid lazily on the couch, with a bag of chips on my chest. "Yes I can." Chris giggled, stealing a chip from the bag. I sat up, following him to the kitchen. "Thank you." I placed a kiss on his jaw. "Mm, you're welcome." He quickly made my sandwich, sitting down next to me on the couch. "Do you want anything?" He shook his head, running his fingers lightly over my leg. His phone began vibrating on the side table. "Let me take this, it's Jimmy." I nodded, finishing off my sandwich. "What? He's asking for me? Yeah. Dude, I know. I'll take care of it. I'll be there in a bit?" I sat my plate in the sink, glancing over at him. "What was that about?"
"There's a guy down at the office who's asking for me. Jimmy said his name is Jacob."
"Are you going?" He shrugged, getting up to slide his boots on. "I'm coming with you." I ran to my bedroom to quickly grab a sweatshirt. "Darlin', if it's him, I don't want anything to happen."
"You aren't doing this alone. It's my problem to take care of." He continued to attempt to convince me to stay home. "It's our problem now. I wouldn't ever let you go through this by yourself." He kissed my forehead, carrying my purse to his truck. For most of the drive, we were silent. Crazy thoughts started flooding my mind, overwhelming me a lot. I stared out the window, zoning out completely. There are so many things that could happen. He's unpredictable, I never know what he's going to do next. I know that Chris isn't worried about him, but he doesn't know him like I do. He doesn't know about all the horrible things he did to me during and after our relationship. Chris squeezed my leg lightly, making me look at him. "You okay?"
"Mhm."
"Nervous?"
"A little."
"Don't be, I'm here. Everything is gonna be okay." I knew he was right. I've never felt more safe, knowing that Chris is here for me. "Take deep breaths, okay? I'm here for you, darlin', I ain't going anywhere." He rubbed my back as we pulled into the parking lot, sitting there for a moment. "Are you ready?"
"Not yet. No, not yet." I shook my head, trying to breathe normally. I haven't seen him in over a year, I know that when I do all those memories are going to come flooding back. I'm not ready for that. I'm not ready to deal with that pain again. "We don't have to do this. We can go back home." He scooted closer to me, turning the truck off. "I want to." He pressed his forehead to mine, connecting our lips for a second. "I don't want to live in fear because of him. He doesn't deserve that satisfaction. I'm happy now, and I deserve it." He smiled in response, kissing me again. "You're absolutely right. You deserve so much happiness, sweetheart."
"And you give me all the happiness I could ever need." I held his face in my hand, running my thumb over his dimple. "I love you so much."
"I love you, I'm ready." He got out, walking over to my side to open the door for me. He took my hand, squeezing it reassuringly. Before we opened the door Chris turned to me, giving me another kiss. "It's gonna be okay." I nodded, flashing a quick smile.I knew it was him before he even turned around. That stupid fade hair style, backwards hat, and wrinkled cardigan. I could recognize his cheap cologne anywhere. "There she is." His voice made me cringe. Jimmy stood in the doorway, an uncomfortable look plastered on his face. Chris wrapped his arm around my hip, holding me close against him. "What do you want?" He smiled, "I just wanted to see how you were doing. It's been a while." I rolled my eyes, starting to get sick to my stomach. "You have never given a shit about me. What do you want?" He took a small step closer, still smiling confidently. Chris tightened his grip on my waist. "Don't be so uptight, we're just having a friendly conversation."
"I don't want anything to do with you. Why the fuck do you keep showing up in my life?" Jacob frowned, a hint of anger in his eyes. "I don't like your tone. Don't be a bitch."
"You need to leave me alone, and never contact me again." He took another step forward, making Chris let go of my waist and move in front of me. Chris put his hand on his chest, "Don't come any closer." He smirked in response, throwing his hands up defensively. "And what if I do?"
"You'll regret it." Chris's jaw was clenched, and he firmly held his hand on my ex's chest. "Alright, alright. Whatever you say, big man." Jacob backed up a bit, the same dumb look on his face. He stayed in front of me, keeping eye contact with him. "Just wait until you're not around." He mumbled under his breath. "What the fuck did you just say?" Chris got significantly closer to him, almost touching his chest to Jacob's. "I don't ever want to hear about you contacting her, being around her, or even fucking thinking about her." He broke out laughing, patting Chris on the back. "Jealous that I had her first?"
"Are you jealous that I have her now and will have her forever?" Chris shot back. "That's cute but, she'll never love you." He had his fists tightly closed, and his muscled veins were prominent through his tight shirt. It was honestly very fucking attractive. I smirked, thinking about something that would make Jacob more mad than he's ever been. I stepped up behind Chris, running my hands over his muscles and gently kissing his neck. He became flustered, standing there letting me do what I wanted. Jacob scoffed, rolling his eyes and shoving Chris to the side, before walking out the door. I giggled, pulling Chris against me.
