A flash took everybody in the room by surprise. They were even more surprised when Xavier stepped through.
'What are you doing here?' said Pian
'Charming, nice to see you too' replied Xavier.
He noticed Sara on the bed. He dropped his stuff he had brought with him and walked over and knelt by the bed.
There was a knock at the door. All the occupants in the room froze. Jericho walked to the door while the others readied their weapons. He opened the door a fraction
'I'm sorry to disturb you' the inn keeper said, 'but there are enquires being made around the area, mostly at old safe houses. They are looking for a group with a dead girl'
Jericho stepped out of the room.
'What did you tell them old man?'
The man looked flustered.
'I didn't tell anyone nothing, I mean anything'
Jericho thought for a moment. Gabriel had been gone for a while and it was starting to get dark. Maybe then should move and find a better place to hide, if they were indeed being hunted. His train of thought was broken as they heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Jericho grabbed the old man by the front of his shirt.
'I didn't say anything, I swear' he whined.
'Put him down Jericho'
Gabriel stood at the top of the stairs with Esse.
'Get everyone together it's time to go.'
Gabriel turned to the inn keeper.
'I am sorry for my overly cautious friend. He can be a little heavy handed at times'
The inn keeper straightened his shirt
'I should think so! I only came up to warn him'
Gabriel raised an eyebrow
'Of what?'
The inn keeper felt he had been inconvenienced enough without having to explain it again.
'Ask your ruffian!' With that he stomped down the stairs muttering.
Gabriel entered the room.
'I'm sorry boss,' said Jericho
'He said that some people had been asking round about us, I was making sure he hadn't said anything.'
Gabriel noticed Xavier knelt by the Sara's bed. He walked over and placed his hand on his shoulder. Xavier stood and embraced Gabriel.
'I am so sorry' was all Xavier could say.
'Hopefully it's not too late, but we need to get to Amy soon' said Gabriel solemnly.
'Let's get going then, no time to waste' said Xavier.
Gabriel scooped Sara off the bed, trying to not let her lifeless body affect him, still hanging on to the hope that she could be brought back.
'Don't leave anything behind. I am going to get you out of Jarako and to someone who can help Sara. Gather your things and follow me' said Esse, taking charge of the situation.
Everyone did as they were instructed and within ten minutes the room was empty and the group had split up into pairs as they followed Esse in stages down Beggars Alley. Gabriel had paid the inn keeper a small fortune as he had left, hoping that it would keep him quiet.
They reached the end of Beggars Alley and had just crossed the junction towards Jarako's suburbs, when Xavier noticed that he had left a belt of orbs in the room.
