I walked through the halls of Ketsubutsu greeting students as they passed by, unknowing to them all my placement as their teacher would be ending today.
I sighed as i walked into my next class and stuck on a smile "Welcome class!" I cheered as i propped my books down at the desk, scanning my eyes across the room to see the classroom filled with students, no empty seats.
"Hey Ms.Kibira!" Tatami Nakagame waved, a smile spread across her face but slowly fell as I began writing 'Final' on the chalkboard behind them. "Final?.." Tatami said confused as she looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
Shikkui Makabe, Itejiro Toteki and Yo Shindo and the rest of my class all looked at me in confusion as I looked down at my desk.
"I've been with you guys since you first started here and I've enjoyed every minute being your teacher, so it brings me sadness to tell you that my placement as your music teacher has come to an end." I sighed, god I'm not used to having to break bad news to those guys. "God I hate being serious I sound like a fucking tit" I groaned and rubbed my temple and looked back up at my now blue class. Yo was the most distraught, gripping onto his desk in frustration "why?!" He grit his teeth as he looked at me, Tatami looked at Yo not used to this side of his anger.
"My contract only makes me your teacher for 2 years, your 3rd year of school is jam packed with work experience and apprenticeships with other pro's. No space for music lessons" I shrugged as I took a sip of my water. The class calmed down now understanding the situation, Yo still being pissed.
"I dont like this, your last day with me isnt meant to be a sad day" I sighed stretching my arms "Right everyone get into your costumes, for the last time you will be practicing your entrances with your theme tunes. These theme tunes should be perfected now with your choreography."
I stood waiting in the schools theatre as the class filled in, in register order the students practiced their themes in order to hype them up for their upcoming battles. Despite the loud energy in the class there was a gloom looming over the class, knowing it was the last time we would be in the same room together as teacher and students.
"You guys did amazingly! I'm so proud of each and everyone of you, you've perfected it all" I smiled with a tear forming in my eye "you're all going to be incredible heros"
Tatami teared up as she jumped onto me draping her arms around me "I'm gonna miss you so much!" Taking me by surprise I froze for a second and softened my arms around them all as more jumped into the huddle. As much as leaving them hurts, this moment was the best feeling.
After the huddle I waved my students goodbye as I left the classroom, wiping my eyes as I shut the door behind myself. I walked to the staff room to finalise the paperwork for my students' final grades. As I sat at my desk marking the work i suddenly felt a warm breath on the back of my neck, Ms.joke wrapped her arms around me and began to embrace me tightly. "Hey Emi" I softly smiled and looked up at the smiling hero.
Emi and I became friends right off the bat, so this separation isnt feeling that great for us all, especially for Emi. "Y'know I always thought of you like a sister" Emi blatantly said as she sat down next to me. "Shut up I've cried enough today dont you start me off again" I groaned as I swung back in my chair. Emi chuckled as she looked up at the ceiling "fine fine, just dont replace me when you go to UA" Emi snorted as she laughed thinking of the situation of being replaced.
Taking me by surprise, I raised my eyebrow and sat up fully looking at the green eyed girl "Hold up I didnt tell you what school I was going to?" Emi's eyes widened as she shot up. "I may of snuck a look at your application papers to UA cause i was scared you was gonna become a pro again" that cheeky shit..
I looked at Emi and groaned "It was one time! can everyone stop bringing it up"
Emi raised her hands "okay okay! I wont bring it up again, but on the topic of UA there is a hotty there but he wont marry me" Emi sighed with a laugh buried underneath.
The rest of the day was spent by Emi's side as I really was dreading leaving her.
"Before you go, I want you to have this" Emi handed me a medium sized present wrapped in a shiny red foil. I looked at her confused and unwrapped it seeing a picture of me and her together on the beach, my breath hitched as I looked up at her "this is from when I told you I never swam in the ocean so you forced me to go to the beach with you" I smiled softly and embraced her in a tight hug really not wanting to leave her now. "I'm gonna miss you so much" Emi sighed and rest her head ontop of mine
Time was shortening and next thing happened and I found myself waving at her through the train window as my train left the station.
This was where everything changed.
