Chapter 1

I was so tired but I had to keep going, I could not see a thing but I knew I had to keep going because they would catch me and I could not go back there, to that place I call hell . My legs felt like jelly and I wanted to stop, just a little further I told myself, I could no longer hear the dogs barking or the pounding of feet but I wanted to be sure. I had not come all this way to get caught by being careless. Too much was on the line, my life and all the lives of the other kids back in the facility, and with that thought I ran.

I felt the sun hit my face before I opened my eyes, it was morning. I could barely sleep last night, the adrenaline from the night before was still in my veins. I can't believe it, I actually escaped, so many thoughts raced through my head but my mind landed on one. Taylor. When I first arrived at St.Mary's, Taylor came bounding up to me and took me under her wing, she is two years older than me and is like a big sister that I never had. I miss her but I have to do this, I'm on a mission, my plan is to take down the facility, but in order to do that I have to find them, you're probably thinking who are they? Well, a few months ago a group of kids, who go by the name, "The Soldiers Of The Ruined", escaped the facility and rumour has it they are hiding in the Docarres Forest, people have hunted and searched for them for months but they have not been found, but I know they are out there, it's like a gut feeling I have and it won't go away, it's almost like I'm being guided to them, like this is my fate, I just hope I'm not wrong. I will come back for you Taylor, I promise.

I packed up my stuff and put them in my backpack, which was filled with my essentials, I pulled out my map, the Docarres Forest was circled by a red marker. If my calculations were correct it would take me a week to get there if things went as planned. When I had everything I needed I set off. My mind began to wander and I started to think, "what will happen when I get there? Will they take one look at me and tell me to go away? Or will they help me save those kids", only one way to find out.
