"Close your eyes Matt... What do you see?" - Asked a soothing feminine voice
"I see... I see pain, it feels like I'm in hell" - Responded Matt struggling with every word
"Go to your happy place Matt, your body is levatating, you have no weight... Where are you going?" - Asked the feminine voice again.
"I see a tree, it's on top of a small hill, I see my mom, my brother and.. And..." - Said Matt shaking a bit
"What do you see Matt?" - Asked the femenine voice not to so soothing this time
"It's my dad..." - said Matt calmly.
Matt could see his family all sitting near a tree enjoying a picnic as the sun was setting.
"Everything is fine..." - Added Matt a bit confused
"Fine is good, how is your family?" - asked the femenine voice now more calm.
Matt ignored the voice, he hadn't had a dream like this in years.
"My father is happy..." - Matt said calmly but sadly.
He was enjoying seeing his family all together, all happy as the sun was setting, slowly getting dark. Matt turned to see the sun setting. He turned to see his family again, but they were gone, his family had disappeared with the sun. The moon had taken over. He could hear himself asking and shouting for them in his dream when suddendly a drop of water fell from the tree. He touched the drop and smelled it, it wasn't water... It was... Green tea? He knew he was sleeping it was all a big dream, but that smell, the smell of his father's favourite drink felt so real. He tried smelling it again but this time it just smelt like death. He looked at his fingers, they had a red stain, blood red.
Another drop fell from the tree. Matt looked up, his entire family hanged, and his dad's mouth dripping blood. Matt screamed and fell onto his back, his hand landed on another dead body. It was his father's body all covered in blood. It's all your fault the body said to him on his dream. Matt couldn't take it, he opened his eyes.
He was in doctor Chen's office. He was fully awake, the soft neutral colours of the office helped him recover his breath.
"Is everyrhing okay?" - Asked Doctor Chen with her calm voice
Matt realized he had fell from the chair during his dream, maybe he didn't scream in real life? One million thoughs ran thro his head as he got up on the chair again.
"I'm fine" - he said in an angrish tone.
The doctor lifted an eyebrow very clearly knowing he wasn't as fine as he was trying to paint himself to be.
Matt looked at her up and down as she got up.
She opened a small drawer from her wooden brown cabinet, and took out a small pill box.
"I said I'm fine doctor" - he said a bit more angry
The doctor ignored his comment and placed the box on top of her desk.
"Listen, I know it's a tough time for you, but did you do anything special yesterday?" - asked the doctor.
"No... My mom wanted me to celebrate on the day but..." - Said Matt before stopping to look at the floor
"but...?" - asked Dr. Chen gently.
"I said I didn't want to... I refused to..." - continued Matt
"I think it would be important for you to spend some time with your friends and family... Have you thought about what I told you?" - Asked the doctor.
"I'm going out Friday with some friends and my brother... And yes actually" - Said Matt a bit proud of himself getting up, knowing the session was over.
As he was walking home he turned on his wifi and immediatly got a notification "Josh.UwU is going live right now".
Matt decided to ignore the notification and continue walking home, he reached the subway station, it was empty, the timer didn't say what time he had to wait, and a breeze of cold slightly filled the station. He could almost hear the wind whisper his name, the creepy atmosphere left him nervous. To try and forget everything he logged on social media, and entered the livestream. Took a few seconds to load but Matt let out a small smile as soon as it did.
A young boy was hosting that livestream, he was wearing a pink sweathsirt and shorts, sitting on his bed responding to comments and questions
"Oh heya Matt how are you!" - Josh asked with his soft and kind voice
Matt giggled a bit from hearing his cute voice, he started writting him a comment but quickly stopped, the livestream was being flooded with comments, all saying nice things from his friends. Matt noticed a comment it was from an unknown user, and it looked like Josh was ignoring it, or at least not seeing it.
The user didn't have a name and the profile picture was just a black square, the user had commented "I'm going to tie you up, cut your body and hang you to a tree".
Matt almost dropped his phone this threat felt so...so... And then suddendly the comment was gone. Could Josh have blocked the user? Josh didn't say anything about it, did he even see it?
Matt could hear the subway coming, he took a one look at Josh's brownish golden curly hairs and left the livestream.
"Hehe well if no one has anymore questions i think I'm going to end the stream" - Said Josh gigling a bit "Allright then bye!"
Josh clicked on the button to end the stream. He looked at the desk he has in his bedroom, all homework finished, everything ready for the next day of school, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes a bit. His phone started to ring
"Hi! Oh hi abuelita" - He said with a nice giggle.
Meanwhile somewhere between subway stations Matt was sitting in an almost empty subway carriage.
In front of him was a sweet looking old lady, checking a small map.
He looked out at the window, he couldn't see anything except his own reflection.
His fingers were touching his straight black hair, twisting and turning the hair as he was thinking. His dreams have only gotten worse ever since his birthday , and well his father's death anniversary. He felt like something or someone was watching him now more then ever.
"Next stop..." A weird intermission stopped Matt from hearing what was the next stop. The intermission felt like people screaming in pain mixed with radio noises.
"I'm sorry do you know what is the next stop?" - Asked Matt to the lady
"Well it's Bakersfield of course darling" - The old lady awnsered him in a sweet note, almost as if the intermission hadn't bothered her.
"Oh thats my stop..." - Matt murmored feeling a bit weirded out from the situation, it felt like the trip went too fast.
"Allright see ya (t)hell!"  - the old lady told him gagging a bit on that last word.
Matt got up and left not quite understanding the woman. See ya there? Then? Thell? Or did she say Hell? Did that woman say she'd see him in hell. The more Matt thought about it the weirder it got. He looked back as he left his station, but there was nothing there. It left without making a sound...
Matt shrugged it off with some difficulty and walked home. When he finnaly entered home he noticed a post-it saying: "I'm gonna spend the night at a friend's place, mom wants you to call her btw"
Matt ignored the post-it he wasn't in the mood to do it, he entered his bedroom and sat on the bed. As he turned on the wifi on his phone he was a bit sad with the fact that there were no new messages. He was thinking about today's session with Doctor Chen, and about all the weird things that had happened. He decided to text Josh, to know if he would be available and down to celebrate his birthday with him on Friday. Matt waited a bit before closing his eyes, but Josh didn't have his phone on.
Josh was at his grandma's home.
"Hehe I win again" - Said Josh's grandma as she finished a game of cards
Josh laughed a bit, his grandma looked at the clock
"Oh my you should get going, your dad is gonna lose it if you are not there!" - Said Josh's Grandma
"Abuelita we both know that's not true, it's a miracle if I even see him tonight..." - said Josh with a bit of sadness on his voice.
"You know I have a bit of soup if you wanna spend the night" - Said his grandma as a way of trying to brighten his night
"You are too sweet" - Josh got up and kissed her grandma on her forehead "But all my school stuff are at home"
"Want me to drive you there?" - Asked the grandma.
"It only takes me five minutes to walk over there I think I'll be fine" - Said Josh laughing a bit as he grabbed his coat
"I know, but I worry about you sometimes..." - Said his grandma again
Josh kissed his grandma's forehead once more.
"I'll call you when i get there" - He awnsered before leaving.
Matt was inside a dark room, he saw Josh all tied up in the corner, as he got close to the boy he heard a very deep voice saying "Nah-ah not yet". The tied up boy got dragged to the other corner of the room. "Stop it!" Matt said to the voice. A red big human like figure emerged from the dark, and released a deep giggle. Matt and the figure glanced at each other before a noose dropped from the ceiling right in front of Matt, also in front of him, the boy.
The tied up boy was on his knees. Claws started to peel off Matt's skin "Do it or I will" The voice told Matt as he looked at the rope noose at the same time he looked at the tied boy crying for his life. Two big strong arms started holding Matt's arms forcing him to put the noose onto the boy's body. "NO" Matt yelled. Everything disappeared after his yell. He had woken up. He was still in his bedroom with his phone in his hand. It was all a dream, he told himself.
His phone vibrated, it was a text from Josh.
"Hey sorry my phone was turned off, sure I'd love to go, where do you wanna meet on friday!"
Matt smiled a bit while reading the text message not knowing a much darker presence was also laughing at the message.
