Y/N POV
I gazed at the raindrops racing down the car window as I tried to drown out the noise of my little brothers crying with my second-hand air pods playing as the world caves in.

At least two hours of constant chatting, crying, singing and screaming went by until my mum called "here". Can my family not be peaceful and silent for 1 minute? I'm not really a people person if I'm being honest. Unlike them I'd rather be alone and quiet, shutting myself off from the world. Besides, fictional worlds are much better than this place. Especially this year.

I stepped out of the car and my eyes widened. No, seriously a raindrop fell right in my bloody eye. Two seconds here and it's already going great *cough*sarcasm*.

Now, where is here? My mum decided it would be amazing and good family bonding if we moved from a modern house in central London to an old dusty haunted house mansion in the middle of nowhere. With no WiFi. And no modern electric. And no local food stores except a farm a few fields away. It's quite isolated which is great, but I also need WiFi to survive. Looks like for now I'm stuck back with my good old books.

The brick walls of the house were nothing like my old house. These stretched out far and the colour was fading as-well as the stone crumbling slightly. Forest, green, entwined ivy crawled up the corners of the house creating a tranquil effect. No need to buy that fake stuff for my room then.

If I wasn't being moody at the moment I would probably be admiring the 100 year old house for it was beautiful. But it was just a new normal and that takes a while to get used to.

"Y/n help Carry boxes in then" Dad remarked. I get my sarcasm from him. Sarcasm is our only defence, I mean if you've seen how small we are, 5'5 to be precise, it's all we've got. My little brother, Mike, on the other hand has his voice. That kid can scream like there's no tomorrow. Handy in some cases, not so much in others!
He likes to think he can sing too, let's just say a few glasses were shattered in the past. No one could tell him the truth, that could shatter his little heart...and lead to more screaming.

Its alright. I guess. Who am I kidding? It was, how do I describe it..aesthetic? There was literally a whole. Flipping. Fireplace. In my room. Not to mention a 4 poster bed, old fashion wallpaper and a huge windowsill perfect for sitting on and crying whilst watching the rain. I mean..star gazing.

I skipped out the hallway to go find the rest of my family. Just had to make sure my younger brother didn't get the bigger room.

A rusty old knight stood in front of a cracked window as I strolled past. "Good day Gerald" I grinned. To which came no reply. Well obviously what was I expecting from a piece of metal armour.

"YYY/NNNN ?!" mother called.
"Muuuuuuuum." I remarked.
"Mike is bored. Your father and i are unpacking so go explore the house together".
"Sure, I would loved to take my annoying brother on a walk" I flashed a fake smile.
"Less backchatting and go" mum sighed.
"Up, up, up" Mike chanted. Rolling my eyes, I hauled him up onto my back as I gave him a piggy back around the house.

"Go backkkk I wanna talk to Gerald" Mike whined.
"Gerald doesn't like to talk and I'm not standing back there for another 10 minutes of you telling a statue of rotting metal about all the reasons why you love sky from paw patrol."
Mike just grumbled in annoyance as we stepped into another room.

The room was bare and dull. It held nothing except a sheet covered ..object?...at the back of the room. Mike hopped off my back and eagerly ran towards it.
I laughed as he ripped the sheet off the object with so much force that he toppled over and drowned in the cover.

"Am I dead? All I see is darkness?!" Mike panicked
As I pulled the sheet off him he chuckled "oh" and we turned towards what the cover revealed.

A huge oak wardrobe stood in its place. It was a shade of chocolate brown and consisted of intricate designs.

"DON'T OPEN IT" Mike screeched.
"..why not?" I questioned.
" monsters duh." He replied like it was the most obvious thing known on this planet.
"Right, let's check together then and you will see there are no monsters" I encouraged blatantly.

We pulled open the doors to find many winter coats hanging up. Why would someone need so many coats? I wondered.
"What if the monster is hiding behind the coats, monsters can be clever unlike you." Mike whispered.
Ignoring his last comment, I grabbed his hand. "Well then we will just have to check behind the coats."

"Ow stop poking me!" Mike screeched.
" I didn't even touc- HEY that was my eye!"
"But I-"
Our bickering was cut off as we both tumbled to the ground.

We both looked up and our eyes began to widen. Simultaneously, we turned our heads to glance over at each other in shock.
"What the f-
