She'd moved to Gotham from Paris years ago, settling in among the chaotic city. Plagg loved this place. And it was certainly the last place anyone would expect Adrien Agreste to settle down after his father's arrest. And even if they did, they would find no Adrien here, only Selena Kyle and she'd made sure to become as unrecognisable as possible, learning feminine makeup and dying her hair black. The only recognisable feature she'd been unwilling to cover where the green eyes she'd gotten from her mother.

Marinette had been helpful enough to 'kit' her out with a new wardrobe when she'd finally admitted to the other girl about their true gender. It was strange to be consulted on their clothing, having had everything in her like dictated and decided for her. But Marinette was amazing and so excited to talk with her about it, helping her find her new style and choose her new name.

They still kept in regular contact, Chat Noir giving way to Catwoman, she even made a few new friends in Gotham. Though Harley and Ivy had a habit of getting into trouble, they didn't seem like bad people.

But Gotham was so different from Paris and she'd been out with the girls one night only to get caught up in one of their silly plans. Which meant meeting the Bat for the first time. They might have gotten off on the wrong foot, but the game of Cat and Bat was a little too much fun and she might have gotten a little too invested. Making reasons to play with the man... a few of which were a little less than legal... and Marinette would no doubt be upset if she found out. but Selina conveniently forgot to mention it whenever they would talk.

Then she found out who the man behind the mask was and dropping in on him became even more fun when she could just jump through a window day or night. Bruce's butler had even taken to making extra food in case she dropped in unannounced.

But her bug was coming to visit. Which meant that she had to be on her best behaviour so Marinette wouldn't find out she'd been misbehaving... which also meant buying Plagg a ridiculous amount of cheese as a bribe to stay quiet.

She'd told Harley and Ivy that she wouldn't be able to play with them for a few days. But she wouldn't be surprised if they popped in unannounced... hopefully Mari would like them if they did meet. Even if her bug might feel a little uncomfortable with their criminal history.

Honestly, Marinette's arrival was more than a little stress inducing. What if her bug got caught up in another Rogue's mess? The villains here could be a lot worse than the ones in Paris and unlike Marinette was used to, the damage here didn't get reversed with a lucky charm.

So Selina waited in anxious anticipation for her best friends arrival. She hadn't gone for her nightly roams for days now, and she was feeling a little caged in her apartment because of it. But she knew if she called for Plagg to transform her she would get up to no good. And she couldn't spend time in jail because Mari was due any day now.

Marinette wasn't the slightest bit impressed with the city her kitten had declared their home. It was dirty, dark and dangerous. She'd only gotten off the plane and reached the taxi bay outside the airport and already three people had tried to pick her pocket.

Her impression hadn't gotten any better as the taxi took her to what seemed to be the city's slums.

What on earth was her Cat doing? She had more than enough money to live in a decent neighbourhood, if there existed such a thing in Gotham.

She stepped out of the taxi, handing the driver her fare and looking up at the sad looking building in front of her. It was so strange to think that Selina, who had grown up in what was basically a mansion was living in such a rundown looking apartment block. Then again... maybe that was exactly why she was doing so. Selina had done pretty much everything else to cut any and all ties to Gabriel. Though seeing this place made Marinette feel very relieved that she'd made sure her kitty took Plagg with her. At least with the black cat she would be able to look after herself.
