DAVE GAHAN

🇮🇹 Lui è il frontman della band, Dave Gahan.
Il suo vero nome è David Callcott, Gahan è il cognome del patrigno che ha sempre creduto fosse suo padre. 

David "Dave" nasce a Epping nel Regno Unito nel 1962. Il padre biologico, Len Callcott, lasciò la famiglia quando Dave era molto piccolo. Quindi la madre, Sylvia Ruth, si trasferisce a Basildon nell'Essex dove conosce il gallese John Gahan,con cui si sposa. Quindi Dave e i suoi tre fratelli prendono il cognome 'Gahan'. 

Quando nel 1972 Dave aveva dieci anni, John, che ha sempre creduto essere il padre, muore. Dopo un pò di tempo il vero padre si fa vivo, per far visita alla famiglia. 
Dave quel giorno quando torna da scuola e quando la madre gli disse che quel signore, quello sconosciuto, era il suo padre biologico, non ci credeva. Lui era convinto che il vero padre fosse morto. 
Immaginate come si è sentito Dave in quel momento. Dopo che hai vissuto per dieci anni con un uomo che credevi fosse tuo padre, un giorno si presenta uno qualsiasi a dire che il vero padre è lui.
Il padre ogni tanto fa visita alla famiglia ma un anno dopo scompare del tutto. 

Durante l'adolescenza Dave era un ragazzo ribelle, un "bad boy" possiamo definirlo. Infatti fu convocato molto spesso al tribunale per i minorenni per furto d'auto, vandalismo e anche graffiti.
Dopo un pò Dave decide di lasciare la scuola superiore e iniziò a lavorare. Iniziò con dei piccoli lavoretti come venditore di bibite non alcoliche, poi anche come stilista e vetrinista. 
Nel 1977 si iscrisse a un college a Londra dove incontrò Martin Lee Gore e Andrew Fletcher, che più avanti presenteremo, futuri membri della band.

David "Dave" was born in Epping in the UK in 1962. His biological father, Len Callcott, left the family when Dave was very young. Then her mother, Sylvia Ruth, moves to Basildon in Essex where she meets the Welsh John Gahan, with whom she marries. So Dave and his three brothers take the surname 'Gahan'.

When Dave was ten years old in 1972, John, who has always believed to be the father, died. After some time the real father shows up to visit the family.
Dave that day when he came home from school and when his mother told him that this gentleman, that stranger, was his biological father, he didn't believe it.
He was convinced that the real father was dead.
Imagine how Dave felt at that moment. After you've lived for ten years with a man you thought was your father, one day anybody shows up and says he's the real father.
The father occasionally visits the family but disappears completely a year later.

During his teens Dave was a rebellious boy, a "bad boy" we can define him. In fact, he was very often summoned to the juvenile court for car theft, vandalism and even graffiti.
After a while Dave decides to drop out of high school and starts working. He started with small jobs as a soft drink seller, then also as a stylist and window dresser.
In 1977 he enrolled in a college in London where he met Martin Lee Gore and Andrew Fletcher, whom we will present to you later, future members of the band.
