MAYBE THE END OF THEM
"So what do we do now?"
It had been a week, a week of binging movies, playing card games, and ordering too much takeout. The two were slowly becoming bored and were itching to open the apartment door and flee from the four walls.
It was a constant cycle, neither one having their jobs to add to the substance to their lives. They were bored but cautious. And living in a confined apartment made it harder for anything interesting to happen.
There were some good things about being stuck together though. They learned about each other, their soulmate bond benefited from their closeness, and the two found themselves more attracted to each other whether they would admit or not.
"I would say let's watch a movie but I think we have watched them all," Jungwoo shrugged in his seat, itching to find something to cure their boredom.
And like a lightbulb flickering on an idea came to his head. "Did you bring a sketchbook?"
—
"Are you sure you want to sit still for that long?"
Jungwoo's idea to pass the time required Akina to rekindle her drawing skills that she hadn't used in a week or two.
She gripped her pencil almost cautiously, it felt foreign in her hand even after a short time.
"I've never got to see you draw or even your art pieces. I'm curious to see what you can do." He grinned, one corner rising a little higher than the other, a nuance she has noticed from the two being together.
"Okay, I'll draw you, but something quick and then let's do something together. Deal?" She persuaded, spinning the pencil in her grip as he nodded enthusiastically.
She sat against the couch's armrest, Jungwoo doing the same allowing her to draw his features in a quick but detailed manner.
Truthfully it was much easier to draw Jungwoo as she had already painted a picture of him in her mind weeks ago. Her most favorite moments were illustrated in her mind, her bright smile and sparkling eyes were etched into her memory.
She didn't need him in front of her to draw him, but it was nice anyway.
Occasionally she would glance up, almost like she took a picture of him in her mind, and glance back down to the sketchbook copying his features perfectly.
Jungwoo watched patiently as her hand glided off the paper, sticking her tongue softly in concentration. One thing he has noticed about her.
Watching her draw brought him a lot of joy, surprisingly. He got to see her passion, her gift and it was exciting to see.
Minutes passed until she looked up, "It's done." Her expression was shy as she handed the book to him.
Her heart did pick up speed when she handed it over. She was confident in her work, she has always felt good about her skills but it felt different with him. Like his opinion could sway her own.
He smiled. It was soft as he looked at the sketch but it was truthful as he traced over the drawing of him.
"Wow, you're talented Akina, like really."
He looked up. And everything seemed to pause as that look he had given her before popped up once again.
His eyes stared at her and his smile stayed on his face. It was almost as if he was staring at the beautiful sketch but he was staring at her.
The gaze made her heartbeat increase even more, and somehow their distance between each other started to close in. The two faces only inches away.
Her blood was pumping, expecting in anticipation as everything around her blurred. She closed her eyes slowly, hoping what she thought would happen would be next.
But there was a knock and interrupting the two's self-made paradise making them jump and a hazardous cough radiated out of Jungwoo.
She didn't notice until he was farther away but his ears had a tint of pink as he swiped his hand through his head. "I'll— I'll go get that."
His movement was hasty getting off the couch almost stumbling. She nodded a moment too late as he was already at the door.
But when she didn't hear him speaking to the person who knocked, her head turned in curiosity, stretching to see who was at the door.
All she saw was a black hood and she could understand why Jungwoo had said nothing. She stood up, the situation feeling weird and not so warm as their actions before.
Because it wasn't some random neighbor or one of the boys. It was someone who had a sinister smile and when she saw him her blood ran cold absentmindedly.
Something was wrong.
And that's when the room filled with panicked screams and sparkles of black as she was dragged away only seeing a hunched over Jungwoo against the wall.
Everything fuzzed out and went black, it seemed like life had ended.
thoughts? i feel like this is bad but i wanted to put something out for y'all :)
