Grim carried the weak Ally up the steps. They made it up their rather quickly, only to be greeted by God and Lucifer themselves. Lucifer waved casually, and God smiled at Allison.
"I believe we have found her place." Grim muttered.
"And it's with Gri--"
"In Heaven."
Allison stared at Grim, wide eyed and confused. What was he talking about? Instead of responding, God then nodded to the Reaper and picked up the child, as well as the music box.
"Wait, Grim, no!" She cried out.
"You promised I'd get to stay with you!" Ally wailed.
The sobbing child kicked and shouted, trying to reach for the floating Grim Reaper. Grim's heart shattered to pieces; it was almost impossible to resist the urge to cradle her. To him, Allison was practically her child.
"GRIM!"
Grim arrived back at his lonely place in Purgatory. He'd stare down at the music box in his trembling hands. His limbs felt like jelly.
He slumped to the trunk of the tree. His vision was blurry, and he blinked multiple times as his cheeks grew wet with his own tears. With a gentle hand, he softly cranked up the music box, letting the melody lull him to a grief-filled sleep.
