Chapter 1 the brithday

Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse, I saw my best friend Kate DeLaurentis running towards me with a big grin most likely to jump on me as she always did early in the mornings of school, now I know what you thinking 'she's your best friend happy to see you! what's wrong with that!?' well good question, to be completely honest I've been feeling horrid since this morning, my head is pounding and it feels as if everything has been sent into overdrive... I just want to sleep.

"Evangeline happy birthday!! what took you so long?! Oh my, you... look like a zombie who's just been killed brought back to life and then killed again" she said as she got off me and put her hands on her hips "Do you have a hangover? you know you only just turned 18 today you should have waited on the booze for tonight"

"I don't have a hangover, Kate... I don't even drink alcohol you know that, I just... I feel sick, I was fine yesterday though, I guess it was something I ate maybe bad tofu..wait a minute... aren't zombies already dead?" I asked crossing my arms with a raised brow.

"Well... never mind that! You girl seriously need to get a makeover asap, no offence" Kate grinned her perfect whites "None taken..." I replied in a tired tone about to rub my eyes and was in mid yawn before my best friend grabbed me by the arm. "Perfect! Let's go, go, go! We don't want to be late to get Derek checking you out, do we? It's your birthday and you can't be looking like a dead girl walking!"

And with that my overly hyper friend dragged me into the bathroom, not much complaint from me, it's not like she gave me any time to complain, she stood me in front of the mirror set down her bag opened it up and got to work, she clipped my Pearly white hair back, and started to apply makeup.

Kate was gorgeous with long flowing black hair, she was tall with long legs, proud grey eyes and rosy red lips, she truly looked like a model, me, on the other hand, was odd, I had natural pearly white hair going down in waves, and blue eyes so bright they almost looked silver, my skin was pale yet fair, by no means did I think myself ugly but, odd, I mean how often do you meet someone with natural bright white hair and almost silver eyes, and I wasn't exactly tall either, I was quite short for my age, it's actually what got me and Kate as friends, I use to get bullies and one day she just sort of stepped in front of me and bullied the bullies back, and after that no one bullied me again, instead they wanted to befriend me, it was all thanks to Kate.

As I had been staring off into the mirror recollecting my memories of meeting Kate I smiled faintly before blinking when I felt a flick upon my forehead "Earth to Eva, helloo~ anyone there?" She waved a hand in front of my face with a grin "Girl I've been calling you for ten minutes now what's got you so lost"

"How amazing you are and how much I love you, thank you for freshening me up" She smiled at this and hugged me tightly "Anything for you Evie!" She called one of the many nicknames she had for me "Now let's get to class! I bet Derek will be waiting" she teased causing an eye roll from me, in which she dragged me once again just this time to class, but this throbbing headache wouldn't stop bothering me, and slowly this pain that I felt it was slowly making its way down my body all my muscles felt like they were on fire, I needed to get out of here, but it was only 9 am! I have to wait until 4 pm that's if I'm not lucky and the teacher let me go early.
We got to our class, it was loud and rowdy as per usual, boys idly playing catch with a football or talking about their weekend, some of the girls I knew touching up their makeup or talking about the latest gossip, the stereotypical school really, if you were not a jock and you were not apart of the popular girls you did not fit in, which is a miracle they even put up with me.

"Oh, Eva! Katie!! Over here, did you hear about Mr Dawson?" Another of my friends Julie white beckoned us "Ohh the hot gym teacher? Is he single and free?" Kate said playfully in awe of our gym teacher making me roll my eyes.
"No! He's movies already today his last day!" She said as we sat down 'Huh odd... he's only been here a few months... That's a bit soon to be quitting isn't it I thought confused before Kate broke me out of my curiosity with her whining "What? Then who will I get to daydream about in Gym!.." Kate complained.

"I'm sure you'll find another hot guy to sink your claws into Kate, and maybe not someone that's a teacher" I said with a small laugh "Just like our Angel said, find someone close to your age Katie isn't that right Eva" a familiar boyish voice came from behind us.
"Oh, Derek about time!!" Kate jumped up and hugged his arm "Isn't the birthday girl gorgeous today?" She asked as I looked up at my childhood friend and smiled shyly "She is as usual" he said with a softer smile instead of his usual boyish one "Happy birthday Angie" and with that, he took out a small white box with a blue ribbon on-top.

"Oh, oh! Is it an engagement ring? Are you getting married?! Can I be the GODMOTHER!!" Kate excitedly asked making both me and Derek laugh.

As I opened the box I saw a beautiful silver chained necklace with a moon pendant made of quarts "Oh Derek it's beautiful but you know..." "That you are allergic to silver that's why it's not silver but rose gold given a silver polish" he finished my words making me smile.

"Oh that's also pretty... no wedding for me..." Katie sobbed dramatically as Derek took the necklace out of the box and put it around my neck for me "Oh hush you" I laughed at my friend before looking up to Derek "And truly thank you for this, it means a lot.. Agh!.." the pain in my head felt as if someone stabbed me with a hot poker, I doubled over, hands clutched to my head as my vision and hearing went fuzzy.

The Last thing I saw was Derek and Katie rushing to catch me with worried expressions as I fell and then everything went black.
