Keefe couldn't believe what he just saw. His ex-girlfriend and his best friend's little sister kissing. Well, he's not sure Fitz can be his best friend anymore, being homophobic, and all while Keefe was bisexual. And in a gay relationship.
Keefe felt so smug just thinking that. The fact that Tam had been staring at him all night, and he had very good reason to. The navy blue suit Keefe was wearing was impressive, after all, making both girls and boys apparently swoon. So when the slow song came on and everyone was preoccupied, he asked Tam about it.
"Why're you staring?" he asked, a smirk on his lips as Tam turned bright red and looked literally anywhere but Keefe.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Tam stuttered, keeping his silver eyes still anywhere but Keefe.
"Hey," Keefe felt a strange sort of power explode throughout him when he reached his hand forward and grabbed Tam's chin gently, forcing the brunette to look at him. "Why're you staring?" That time there was no teasing in his tone.
"I'm not f*cking staring, okay," Tam pulled away and for a second Keefe thought he'd gotten it all wrong.
"It's okay if you are." Keefe couldn't help himself. He winked with the sentence, and Tam rolled his eyes.
"You're so infuriating," he mumbled under his breath.
"What?" Keefe asked, and Tam repeated the sentence. Keefe laughed and stepped closer. He was feeling confident tonight. He still remembered when he'd told Tam that he liked him, and he wasn't sure if Tam remembered, or had chosen to forget. Either way, Keefe knew that Tam was aware of his crush, and Keefe was fairly certain the feelings were mutual.
"Do you remember what you told me a little while ago?" Tam asked, holding Keefe's gaze, seeming as if he'd suddenly gained a shit ton of confidence.
"What did I tell you exactly?" Keefe tried to play it cool, but inside he was freaking out.
"We both know you know. So why don't you prove it. Right here, right now." Keefe felt something firey in his stomach. It wasn't anxiety or nerves. It was more, hot.
"Dance with me?"
"Okay, I think I speak for us all when I ask, are any of us straight?" It was the first thing that came out of his mouth when the song ended. He and Tam seperated pretty quickly, neither of them sure what to do with this weird tension between them, and he saw Sophie and Biana pull away from each other. From each other's lips.
"What?" Marella asked, suddenly interested in the conversation. She still had her hands on Linh's waist, standing with almost no room between them.
"Any of us?" He motioned to the group of six, "Not gay?"
"Are you?" Linh asked, pointing between Sophie and Biana, seeming more surprised than anyone else. They both nodded, somewhat ashamed, and Linh squealed.
"OH MY GOD THAT'S! That's so cute. Oh my God. Oh, God. Wait. We're all gay! Wait, what about Dex? Wait, where is Dex?"
"Right here. Glad to see someone missed me." The strawberry blonde showed up suddenly behind Marella and Linh, adjusting his jacket and looking a bit... disheveled?
"Where the hell were you?" Biana asked, folding her arms across her chest.
"And what the hell were you doing?" Marella finished.
"I-" Dex turned pink, running his fingers through his hair. "None of your business. And yes, I can confirm that none of us are straight."
"Dexter! Who the hell are you being gay with?" Keefe asked, eyes wide.
"No one," he said quickly, turning even more red than he already was.
"Oh my God, now you have to tell us!" Marella pushed. Dex turned a darker shade of red, nearly the same color as his hair.
"It's none of your business, okay?" He became suddenly defensive. A couple of seconds of silence hung over them despite the blaring sound of Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA playing before Dex turns away, leaving the question unanswered.
