Katty and Buddy had spent a few days on the road just wondering, they slept in the woods with her skills of survival and how to sleep out there. Buddy was used to the woods, he would spend hours a day with his cousin and his uncle and his dad and his grandpa out there hunting people and such. Tommy his father is the one who had taught him how to hunt for humans while Jimmy his uncle just wanted the person to willy nilly walked onto their property. But he stayed out of it since Buddy wasn't his child.

While walking Katty had to stop real fast she ran and threw up in the field near by. "What's the matter Katty?" Buddy asked. "Its nothing Buddy don't worry about me." Katty said throwing up again while he held back her hair. "No, tell me please." He begged. "Ok, I'm pregnant ok? I'm pregnant." Katty said sobbing. "What? But you are so young to be a mother." He said. "It's not for you to know. The father he, he isn't around." Katty said standing up using her water from her water bottle to rinse out the nasty taste from her mouth.

"I maybe ten Katty but I'm not completely naive. You can tell me." He said comforting her. "The father, he is a boy from my school but he isn't around because well, he's in prison right now. He, let's just say he had hurt me and that's why I'm pregnant."

Katty took hold of Buddy's hand and started walking again. They would be at the farm house soon and he knew this. They were only a few hours away. "There, there Katty. I know what that means and I'm so sorry. You're too young to be a mother but I think you would be a great one since you are taking good care of me." He said smiling at her. "Thanks little man." She said laughing wiping the tears away.

"How far along are you?" He asked. "I'm not sure, I think maybe a few months, time has flown by in my head so I'm not sure but I still get morning sickness. But it won't be long before, oh no!" She suddenly stopped.

"What is it Katty?" He asked. "My baby stuff, I totally forgot, I left all that behind at my home." Katty sat down suddenly crying out. "My dad, he's gotta be worried about me and, and." She sobbed into her lap. Buddy came over comforting and consoling Katty. "Don't worry Katty, my family they are strong men and my momma, she would love you don't worry. We would be all that you would need. They would help you with the baby all of us will." He said.

Katty leaned her head on his little shoulder. "Shhh, it's ok. I promise you Katty. don't be afraid." He said holding her hand. "We are almost close to my home now, I promise you nothing will happen to you." He helped her up and walked her forward.

"I'm so tired Buddy, I'm feeling sick." She said trying to control her emotions. "Don't worry soon we will be home and you will be safe from this cruel world." He whispered in her ear.

As time passed an hour had passed Buddy saw the cornfields and he smiled. "We are here! We are almost there Katty. See those cornfields? We are almost home." He said all excited. That's when Buddy pulled out a blindfold. He knew he had to do it.

He got Katty down to her knees tying the blindfold over her eyes. "Buddy, what are you doing?" She asked filled with fear. "Don't worry, I promise you nothing will happen. This is just to keep you safe." He lied.

"Trust me Katty." He said. Reluctantly she allowed this to go on and she trusted Buddy. He slowly walked Katty so she wouldn't fall and hurt herself. He was excited to be back home with his family. "Just a little closer Katty." He said.
