Naemini knew that Rin hadn't taken his eyes off her since she'd become fascinated with the blue matter that coated her body. She didn't mind, she was too intrigued. In fact, she almost hadn't noticed.
These flames were lethal. She should have been screaming in agony right now, writhing as the blasphemous fire overtook her, but she wasn't. Instead she was enjoying them. So even the deadliest, most seemingly sinful things can be used for good...?
"Rin! Naemini! Don't move, I'm gonna get you out of there!" came Shura's voice. Naemini and Rin both turned their attention to the sound of rocks being moved. Naemini panicked and brought her wings closer to her body. She's gonna see them! She's gonna find out what I am and take me away! She held her breath.
Shura pushed away some more rocks, making an opening. She stared in at them in surprise for a moment before she grinned. "Did I interrupt something?" she teased, pointing out how close the two were. Naemini stared at her wide-eyed. Hadn't she noticed?
Naemini glanced at her back. The wings were gone. No- They weren't gone. She could still feel their weight, but they were simply... invisible? Maybe she'd subconsciously glamoured them.
"Wh- No!" Rin choked at Shura's joke. "Naemini was cold! Geez, Shura. You perverted old hag!"
Shura looked like she wanted to hit him over the head. "I ain't an old hag, brat!" she snapped. "Now get your ass off the ground so we can get outta here and help Yukio with the Yetis!"
Naemini twisted around in alarm. "Help?" she pressed. "You don't mean to hurt them do you?"
"Well, yeah," Shura shrugged, "how else are we gonna stop the attacks and kidnappings?"
"Ms. Shura, it wasn't this group of Yetis...," Naemini hurriedly explained. "They haven't attacked anyone. They did kidnap people, but they were trying to save the researchers. They're friendly!"
"Then who's been killing the researchers and destroying the camps?" Shura asked, now confused and slightly skeptical.
"I'll explain as soon as you start helping us out of here," Naemini rushed, letting Rin help her out of the rocks. "We've gotta get back up there before Yukio and the others cause too much damage... or before something worse gets there."
"Worse? The hell do you mean 'something worse?'"
"I mean the Alpha and his pack. They'll kill without hesitation."
----
Shura had summoned one of her familiars, a large white snake, which carried them up to the cave. Naemini explained everything Anki had told her on the way up. As they neared the top, she could already hear gunshots and shouting, as well as the Yetis growling and shrieking. The moment they reached the top, she leaped from the giant serpent and ran to Yukio.
"Yukio stop shooting!" she shouted. When he didn't listen, she grabbed his wrists and shoved them upward, causing him to shoot into the icy roof of the cave. "Stop, dammit!"
"Naemini are you crazy?!" He yelled at her, tearing his wrists from her grasp. "I could have shot you!" His eyes were wide in fear and disbelief as she glared determinedly at him.
"Stop shooting and tell the others to stop fighting! These Yetis aren't the ones we need to worry about!" She demanded. Yukio stared at her, dumbfounded, but she didn't wait for him to come up with something to argue about. She turned and scanned the cave. "Anki! Anki where are you?!" she called, searching for the female Yeti.
"Angel!"
Naemini saw Anki running to her. Naemini ran out to meet her. "Anki, tell the others to stop fighting! Then my friends will stop once they realize you guys are friendly," she rambled. She glanced back at Yukio. He stared at her for a moment, and upon seeing the pleading look in her eyes, he sighed and nodded. Anki and Yukio both called out at the same time, causing both the Yetis and the cram school students to stop what they were doing.
