A meeting and a date.

You blinked down at the writing scrawled out on your wrist. It hadn't meant anything to you as a child, besides of course being your soulmate's name. In their handwriting. It was... Messy, seemingly written quick. The name was "Jude." You'd heard that name a couple times, but never thought it would apply to this Jude. You honestlu just thought you'd never meet your soulmate, and they'd be left alone as would you. However, the universe seemed to have a different plan for you.

It had been a couple of weeks ago, when you had met him. You'd met him outside of a convintion. A sign laid above the building (over the very clear word "LIBRARY") that read, in - What you'd only describe as old, far betean letters - "PARANORMAL." You were fairly interested in that kind of thing, as well as just general exploration. It was-- Fun. You enjoyed it.

You didn't expect to come face to face with anyone, let alone the bearer of your name, when you went. You'd ran into him, walking in. He was taller than you, a rather small frame. He had glasses, and hair that looked soft to the touch. He had something you could only really describe as a "Ford Pines" aesthetic to him. The long coat, the boots- It was there. (Of course, whom Ford Pines is, and if he exists in your reality, is something that one may be unsure of.)

You blinked, before quickly offering up a sorry, to which he immediately replied the same. He had the faintest accent, though it didn't sound like he was from somewhere else. Mayhaps just raised around someone who spoke like that.

You'd never described yourself as one to find someone particularly attractive immediately, until now. It wasn't like you were in love with him immediately (thinking over it, maybe you were. Maybe you just don't want to admit that.) However, you definitely found him rather attractive.

He'd asked you, albeit a bit awkwardly, if you were here for the convintion, to which your answer was confirmative. At this his face lit up, and he said he was too, and that he was about to leave, but wouldn't now someone was here with him- If you wanted to stay. Which, you agreed to. He then proceeded to explain (rant? Maybe?) about how his sister hadn't wanted to come, and how she thought this was all boring and not real. He then, mentioning how he forgot to, asked your name. You replied, and he gave you his.

The two of you walked around for a bit, you managed to snag his number, then you went your separate ways. And now it's been a few weeks. You lay in your bed now, staring up at the ceiling, and occasionally glancing to his name on your wrist. "Jude."

Was it him? Or were you just imagining it to make up for being lonely? That option was-- A lot more likely than you'd like to believe. You couldn't just say "I think you're my soulmate." That was weird- Even if he was, that was- Too forward?? And if he wasn't, oh, well, you'd bury yourself in shame.

You ran your hand through your hair before getting a call. You got up and, idly almost, wandered over to the phone. It was him. He'd asked you to go to a place he'd said "was good for investigation" and that may just have had some true evidence. Tomorrow.

You agree, and put down your phone, then stared at the wall, almost blankly, before dashing into your room to find a proper outfit for tomorrow.
