                        Chapter 1: Everyday, Everytime

I awake. 6 am. Ugh I think to myself. School. It's everyday that I awake to that same alarm, for the same reason. School. Yes, it might be my favorite song as the alarm but after hearing it for about 3 weeks, it gets old. The sound of amazing beats of music fill my thoughts as I turn over to turn off the alarm. I check my phone, still in bed. 4 messages? Who'd be texting me at 4 am- I suddenly realized I was supposed to call Kris, my internet friend. Kris was my first web friend. I check the messages.

Kris: Hey. Are we still callin or wut?

Kris: Hellooooo

Kris: Cass!

Kris: I'm assuming you're still asleep so call me when you wake up

Welp, might as well call him as I get ready. I press the button to call Kris. It starts ringing. Beep. Beep. Beep. Kris picks up the phone after a minute. "Hello?" I say, still tired. "Cass! Finally! You overslept again." Kris said in a jokingly tone.

"No I didn't. You texted me at 4 am. Two hours BEFORE I wake up." "Oh. Well I just wanted to check if you stayed up to 4 am again. Y'know? Like last week?"

"That's because I couldn't sleep. And now I'm even more tired and stressed. Thanks for the reminder Kris."

"No problemo! Anyway, I hope you remember about the meeting today!" Kris laughed.

"Ugh, but you guys host the meeting DURING my school hours! It's not my fault I'm never there!"

"And it's not my fault Jack decided to piss me off." Kris said with a serious sounding tone. I knew it wasn't either of their faults. Jack was the last one I met on the web.

"Look, Kris, I gotta get ready for school. Let's call this afternoon?" I say with hope that Kris will say yes.

There's silence for a moment. I can tell Kris is thinking about it. C'mon Kris! Say yes! You know I don't have time!

"Fine. Okay, alright. I get that you're busy. Just remember this. Please?" Kris mumbles.

A wave of relief rushed over me "I promise! If I do forget, I'll ship you a cola."

"Haha! I doubt the can will be good after you send it to me!" Kris said, half joking. "But I would appreciate it."

"You got it chief!" I chuckle and hang up, sighing.

I put my phone down and start to get ready for school. I change out of my pajamas and switch to my school uniform. I brush my hair and go downstairs for breakfast. I found the pancake mix and as quietly as I could, started making 4 pancakes. I managed to make pancakes without waking anyone up and quickly finished my breakfast. I had extra pancakes so I saved them for my parents. Now all I had to do was get my backpack ready and brush my teeth.

I checked the clock hanging above the table and saw that it was already 7:49 am. I need to be at school by 8:00! I ran upstairs and brushed my teeth as best I could with the little time to spare. I dashed back downstairs and grabbed all my textbooks, notebooks, and pencil cases. I shoved them in my backpack, zipped it up, and as fast as I could. I shoved my own shoes on, put my backpack on and grabbed my keys, and ran out the door. I locked the door behind me and ran as fast as I could to my school that was two blocks down from my parents house.

I can't risk being late again! Why did they have to be so strict with the school schedule?! I thought to myself, trying not to trip while running. I managed to get to school after two minutes of running. After getting to the front of the school, I checked my watch. It's 7:58. I made it! I quickly went into the office and checked myself in. I sighed, knowing that I won't be late today.
