"Kouen, what do you think about 'Lucy Heartfilia so far?" Sinbad asked the prince. "She's . . ." He trailed off, trying to think of some sort of response. Kouen wasn't one to usually have so much trouble describing someone, even someone he just met, but he just couldn't figure her out and he didn't know why.

It was like she was a living contradiction of herself.

Her aura was warm but her eyes were hardened and looked like that of a seasoned warrior. Her voice was soft with a forced politeness that usually only nobles have (although there was no way she was a noble, Kouen would definitely remember someone that beautiful no matter how brief of a meeting they might of had. And he knew all of the nobles-as was expected by the first imperial prince of the Kou empire) but she carried herself the same way mercenaries do and nobles don't become mercenaries. Ever. No matter what.

". . . strange." Was his simple response.

"Quite beautiful no?" Sinbad's voice had a soft hum to it.

He was very clearly excited about 'Lucy'.

Kouen lifted an eyebrow at him suspiciously and started walking away. Sinbad was probably thinking of ways to woo their new guest and the red head wanted nothing to do with it.

A mere two hours after Loke left with the letter, he materialized next to Lucy again. "Did you give it to her?" Excitedly, Lucy sat up on her bed and faced him. Loke fondly smiled at Lucy's excited face, oh how he missed this. Missed seeing her happy and excited; missed seeing the twinkle in her eye.

"Yes, yes, I gave her the letter and she read it-but I didn't have enough magic to hear her response after she read it. I apologize." He bowed to her which Lucy shook her head at, "it's okay Loke, you gave her the letter and that's all I asked you to do and you did it, so I'm grateful. Truly." Oh how kind his master was. How could Fairy Tail not appreciate the amazing person that Lucy was? She was kind, strong, generous, beautiful; she was simply perfect. But now his perfect master was littered with scars that wouldn't fade (not that those made her any less perfect as all of her spirits would agree, they just hated seeing her injured like that) all because of Fairy Tail.

Loke smiled at her once more, this time a bit strained after remembering how the Guild was partying earlier, not even realizing his princess was gone, before saying goodbye, leaving Lucy by herself again.

After Leo left, Lucy sighed. Something was bothering Leo. She could tell from how quickly he left and the strained smile he gave her. Of course people usually wouldn't notice the slight strain in a smile or someone leaving just a bit earlier than usual but Lucy did. Lucy would always notice these things; she would never forgive herself if she didn't notice if one of her spirits—familywere upset for some reason.

Because of this, if it was something they truly didn't want her to know or worry about, they would cover it up as much as possible. But Lucy always knows, and they know she knows but trusts her enough to believe that she wouldn't ask about if if they didn't want to tell her.

And she hates that she knows she will never betray the trust they put in her by butting into something that has nothing to do with her (or if it did and her spirits wanted to protect her). And she hated how they will always know what she's thinking and feeling but she will never have that same connection with them-this specific part of their bond is as one-sided as contracts between Celestial Spirit wizards and the spirits themselves.

Lucy flopped onto her bed and buried her face into the pillows.

She hated being this powerless to help.

Morgiana didn't know what she just witnessed. Her eyes must be playing tricks on her-there's no other explanation what what she just witnessed.

She just wanted to check on Lucy and see how she was doing; she was injured and seemed just as surprised as they were when she came out of a flower so she must be confused. And Morgiana wanted to help ease that confusion-just a bit if she could-even if she didn't have any answers.

But when she saw her door closed and locked, she assumed that Lucy wanted to be alone for a while to collect her thoughts so she went back to her own room for a bit to give her some space. After about two hours, she went back to Lucy's cabin only to see something glowing from under the door.

Thinking that it was an enemy or Lucy was in some sort of danger (she knows she just met her a couple of hours ago but she honestly wanted to befriend her. Morgiana didn't get many chances to make new friends so now that there was someone else staying with them for a while, she was going to attempt to talk to her-especially since it was someone who was like her. Someone who seems like they want a chance to do something differently and forget about their past, if her scars were anything to go by.) she almost threw the door open.

Instead of hearing someone struggle or fight, she heard two people begin talking very familiarly.

So she peeked inside.

And in there, in place of an enemy, was an orange haired man wearing a suit with glasses and something that looked like cat ears(?) on his head.

When Lucy went into the room, she was the only one there and she was pretty sure at least one person would realize that there was someone else with her or that someone walked in. But no one did. This person seemed to appear out of thin air.

Was he a Djinn? Did she have a metal vessel? But he wasn't big or blue like the ones Morgiana has seen before. Weren't Magi the only ones able to summon them? There were already four of them when there isn't supposed to be more than three Magi at one time.

So what the hell is Lucy.

A/N: I was going to post this a few days ago but got sick for a few days after I got my booster shot so here's a slightly longer chapter for it taking a while. I also may or may not have written half of this with a fever.
