Suspicions;
Alex, Wren, Miranda and I have decided to sit outside since we had a free period before transfiguration. We haven't had a chance to really hang out with each other considering I've been helping Draco with his project which is finally done.
I decided to take a break from fixing that cabinet, it took everything out of me. We've agreed to go back to it in a couple of days.
"Don't look now but iceberg heading this way," Wren muttered, pointing behind me.
We all turn to see Draco, Theodore and Blaise walking towards us. However, they pass us and sit down the field a bit - further away.
"They won't bother us, don't worry," I said, glancing looks here and there.
Wren rolled his eyes as he laid down, "You say that now but next thing you know they've got Alex and Miranda in a headlock.
"Oh and what, they wouldn't harm you?" Miranda scoffed, throwing grass at Wren.
I hid a laugh that failed to escape my lips as the two stared at each other. "Well obviously, I'm perfect," Wren said.
"Sure, say that to your perfect grades," Alex blurted, shaking his head at the two kids.
I tuned the two in front of me out as I stared at Draco, who for the first time in a long time was laughing with his friends. A smile crept onto my face as I noticed his dimples from afar.
"Are you smiling at the Slyther-snakes?" I snapped out of my thoughts to see my three friends eyeing me.
Well, shit.
"What? No, don't be ridiculous. I was smiling at the second-years behind them," I lie, thanking the second-years who were too lazy to sit inside.
Wren and Miranda shrugged and went back to their conversation however Alex had remained his eyes on me. "What?" I asked, beginning to feel uncomfortable with his stare.
"Nothing, you've just been so different since Christmas," he said, frowning ever so slightly.
I scoff as his words hit me slightly, "Have not. I've been a lot happier, actually, especially since Christmas."
He parted his lips to say something but we were interrupted by an awfully familiar laugh. "Well, if it isn't goo and loverboy." We turned to see Theodore and his group walking up to us.
"Piss off," Wren snaps, glaring at all of them.
"Now, why would I do that?" He chuckles, crossing his arms over his shoulders. He turns to Blaise and shoulders him, "Think they need another lesson?"
Blaise let out a laugh however Draco didn't eye any of us, his head was found staring at the floor. "Maybe this time it's our turn to teach you a lesson," I snap, standing up.
Theodore's head snapped in my direction and smirked as he walked closer. "Oh? And what lesson will you be able to teach us, prude?" His smirk just increases.
"Oh- you don't want to tes-" I was interrupted by a hand cover my mouth, forcing me back down onto the floor.
I look to see Alex shaking his head disappointingly. "You should listen to loverboy," Theodore chuckles.
"Hey, come on. Snape wanted us," Draco finally spoke, shoving his friends towards the exit.
Theodore glared at Draco before his eyes wandered over back to me, "This isn't over, goo." With that final note, he walks away along with Draco and Blaise.
"What was that for?" I raise my voice slightly as I look at Alex.
His eyes widen slightly as he moves away from me. "What do you mean? Did you want another embarrassing moment?" He answers back.
"I don't need you fighting my battles for me, Alex," I snap, standing back up and grabbing my bag.
"Oh no, Malfoy had plenty doing in backing you up," he yells.
I turn around as I eye him carefully, "What's that supposed to mean?" He stares at me before shaking his head, "Nothing."
I scoff before turning around and storming back into the castle, needing to clear my head off.
My friends can be protective and want the best but I knew how to handle Theodore. He wanted a reaction out of me and I was going to give him exactly that. I wanted to embarrass him in return so he knows the pain of feeling humiliated by someone else.
No one ever understands that. People still call me 'goo' or talk about me when I'm in the room but I don't let that get to me.
I hate Slytherin's. All but one.
I realised I was walking down an empty hall, I was close to the hospital wing. I notice whispers and footsteps walking towards me and I looked up to see Harry and Ginny in a conversation.
"Ginny! Harry!" I beam, walking up towards them.
"Hello, y/n," Ginny smiles, pulling me into a hug.
"Hi, why are you guys down here?" I asked, intrigued.
Harry shakes his head, "Ron drank poison mead, he's been in hospital since last night."
My eyes widen at the news, "Oh my! Is he alright?" Ginny nods her head as she looks back, "He'll be fine. I just wonder who the hell could've done something like this."
"I hope you guys find out. First Katie Bell and now Ronald," I sigh, frowning at the news.
"I know, believe it or not, Harry thinks it's Malfoy," Ginny snorts.
My eyes widen at the two, Harry doesn't look fazed in fact he's hard strong on his theory. There is no way Draco would ever harm someone else, sure he's a bully but not a murderer.
"I don't think so. Yeah, he's a bully but not a killer," I frown.
Ginny nods her head as Harry shuffles uncomfortably. "Well- I have this theory that he's actually a de-" Harry was interrupted by a slap in the stomach by Ginny.
"What Harry meant to say is that Draco Malfoy is a troubled kid but you're right, a murderer is not one of them," she corrects.
Something in my gut tells me there is more to this and that Harry wanted to say something else. Choosing not to pry, I shrug my shoulders. "Well, I'll see you two later," I smiled.
"Yes, come down for dinner with me," Gin winks and walks past us with Harry.
Oh, Draco.
