I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder.

"Y/n?" A familiar voice said. Luna was kneeling on the floor in front of me. There was a blanket over me and Rory was gone. I sat up, still groggy.

"Where'd Rory go?" I ask.

"My guess is off to bed," she said. "That's where I'm going. It's almost midnight, anyway."

I get up and walk with her up to our rooms, still half-asleep. She smiles to herself.

"You know, one of the first days we met you'd fallen asleep in the common room," she said. "History has a way of repeating itself I guess." I'm too tired to talk. We finally arrived at my door.

"See you in the morning, Y/n. I do hope you sleep well," Luna says, disappearing into her room next door.

"G'night," I say, slurring it. I opened my door to find that Evie wasn't in bed. By now I had gotten used to her roaming around the castle at night, probably off snogging one of the boys. Evie had cost Ravenclaw a total of 156 points over the past four years (not that I was keeping track) for missing curfew and going around with the older boys. In my opinion, it served her right. If she planned on sneaking around, she could have put a little bit more effort into not getting caught. I undid my braid and collapsed on my bed, staring up at the constellation maps on the ceiling that matched the ones in the common room. I drifted off to sleep shortly after that, shoes and all.

~The Next Morning~

I woke up to silence the next morning, which was strange. Usually the water was running in the bathroom, or the floorboards creaked when someone was walking around. According to my clock it was 6:15, and Evie's bed was still empty and untouched. She never came back, I thought. I shuddered at the idea of her staying in the boys' rooms all night, or Merlin knows where else.

After I changed out of my wrinkled robes into fresh new ones, I went through with the rest of my morning routine. It was nice to have the whole room to myself for once, instead of Evie hogging the bathroom and all the counter space.

I walked with Rory, Cora, and Luna down to breakfast. In the great hall I saw Evie sitting at a table, surrounded by boys. Among them was William-Head-Boy-Of-Ravenclaw, and at least four other sixth and seventh-years that were infamous for going through girls like socks. They were practically drooling over her, and she was clearly enjoying the attention. Typical Evie.

"What's wrong?" Cora asks, following my gaze. They all spot Evie and her admirers. We sat down at another table with Cedric and Fred-and-George. Rory looks over his shoulder at Evie and makes a face.

"Your sister just loves the spotlight, doesn't she?" he says. I laugh at his expression.

"That's Evie for you," I reply. We load our plates with food and start to eat.

"Speaking of spotlights," Cedric says, "I hear Professor Burbage and Professor Flitwick are holding auditions for a muggle stageplay next week, as extra credit for muggle studies." Luna perked up.

"What kind of stageplay?" she asked. He narrowed his eyes, trying to remember.

"Agh, I forgot. Juliet something, I think."

"Romeo and Juliet?" Rory suggests. Cedric's face lights up with realization.

"That's it!" he declares.

"I've never heard of that one before. What's it about, Rory?" Luna asked him, leaning forward.

"Way back in medieval times, there were these two kids named Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet," he begins. "And they were in love. 'Star-crossed lovers' the book said, but their families were sworn enemies. I don't remember much after that, except for the parts when Mercutio cracks jokes up until his dying breath. Literally." Luna grins.

"That sounds fun," she said. "I think I'll try it. Is anyone auditioning?" Cedric nods.

"I'm going for Romeo. Or maybe that Mercutio guy," he answered. "Anyone else?"

"I might," Rory says with a shrug. "I've never really tried my hand at acting, to be honest."

"Then now's the perfect opportunity," I said, nudging him. "Tell you what. If you audition I'll do it too, pinky promise." I stick my little finger out and wait for his response. All eyes are on us.

"Say yes," Cora whispered loudly from the other side of the table. Rory finally gives in and links his pinky with mine. Everyone cheers.

"I already regret this," Rory mutters into my ear, but he's still smiling.

"I know," I laugh. And honestly, so did I. I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
