"Bro, nag text na mommy ko. Pinapauwi na'ko," Mark said.

I checked the time, 9:30 pm na pala. We're at my study area inside my room to work on our group project that's due the next day. Si Kevan kasi susunod na lang after nilang mag practice. Hmm, I guess I have to do this on my own for the time being.

Tumayo ako at nilapitan siya sa may study table kung saan naka bukas ang laptop niya para sa pagco-code. I was working on the other modules on my laptop too, and Kevan will debug for us later.

"No worries. You've done a lot already. Kevan and I will do the rest," I assured him. Mas madami na kasi siya natapos compared sa amin ni Kevan.

He folded his laptop, shoved it in his bag, and stood up. "So pano bro? I'll go ahead. Sorry talaga. Di ako nakapagpaalam eh."

"It's okay, I understand. Thanks ha!" and we did a fist bump.

I walked him outside where he parked his car. We said our goodbyes and he immediately went inside his car and stormed out of the drive way.

Pabalik na 'ko ng kwarto ko when I heard my phone beep. I took it out of my pocket to check. It must be Kevan, I thought.

My heart leapt when I saw it was indeed from him. "Papunta na."

So I replied, "Awesome! Ingat. See you in a bit :) "

Sent.

There goes that smiley again. I don't know, but for me, putting a smiley on my messages to Kevan has become rather mandatory.

There was another message, galing naman 'to kay Jansen. 7 pm pa pala niya 'to na send. "Bro, I'm with Angelo and Louie. Baka medyo late nako makauwi maya."

Ah yeah, by the way, Jansen is currently staying with us at home. Naglayas kasi sa kanila dahil nag away sila ng mom niya. But I'm not gonna talk about Jansen here, I promised not to repeat to anybody what he told me last time. He's been going out a lot with his classmates lately. Di naman na ako nagtatanong kung saan sila nagpupunta. But when he comes home, I've been smelling a strong stench of alcohol. Malamang nag-iinom sila, and that's the least of the things I wanna do. Hindi kasi ako mahilig uminom.

Okay lang naman sa 'kin and sa parents ko na dito muna si Jansen sa amin. He's like a son to them and of course, a brother to me. Siya muna nag occupy ng guest room, pero mas gusto niyang sa kwarto ko natutulog. Mas sanay kasi siyang mag couch surfing sa kwarto ko.

Jansen has been through a lot lately. Probably it all started when his dad passed away because of that car accident a few years back. Dun na nag start ang pagbabago sa life niya, sa life nila ng mom niya. And being a good friend, I tried my best to stand by his side, and my family was eager to support him too. Speaking of my parents, they're both currently out of town for a business meeting kaya kami lang ni Jansen at mga helpers namin ang naiwan sa bahay.

After reading his message, I just replied with a thumbs up emoji. I didn't mention na may visitors ako tonight. Umuwi naman na si Mark. But I don't know kung ano magiging reaction niya pag naabutan niya si Kevan dito. I'm aware of the tension building up between them, and I want to resolve it soonest. Pareho silang mahalaga sa 'kin and ayaw kong nag-aaway sila.

As much as possible, gusto kong magkasundo din sila. Kaya ako na ang gagawa ng paraan para magkasundo sila, I'll do whatever I can to fix the rift between them. But I don't know kung paano maayos ang issues ni Jansen, it's a bit complicated. Very complicated.

Pag balik ko sa kwarto, kinuha ko ang laptop na iniwan kong naka bukas sa kama at dinala ito sa study table. Medyo inaantok na 'ko, but I have to fight this drowsiness. We have to finish this. Besides, hindi pa nakakarating si Kevan, so uupo na lang ako dun sa may study area para hindi na 'ko masyado antukin.
