Chapter 1
“The ice tree in a velvet garden”
The girl stared out of her window every moment she could, a bright light shone on her as her eyes, the color of white diamonds, glimmered in the dark like stars, her hair the color of a raven, and as long as hair could grow, wavered in the wind.
All she could see was the happiness she could experience if she could leave the mansion. But she couldn’t.
“Helena!” a sudden yell startled Helena as she fell backwards onto her bed.” Didn’t I tell you to never open the windows and stick your head out. Father told you many times-”
“That the world is dangerous…” Helena continued the man with a black suit, brown hair and dark blue eyes’ sentence as if she was reading his mind. The man closed the old window and pulled the dark curtains to prevent any light from coming through.
“Don't you think brother william, father and ‘YOU’ of all people are a little bit too over protective, i’m fine, i haven't gotten sick for several days now.”
“Yes, maybe not now, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.” he waved his hand, signaling Helena to lie down, patting the thick blanket and tucking her in. “Please, Helena, don't open the window without anyone being next to you.”
Helena shuffled to the left. “Fine...hey brother Edward, can I go to mother’s garden tomorrow?” Edward kept silent for a few seconds, he clearly did not think of bringing Helena to the garden.
“I don-” Edward froze when he saw a teardrop roll down Helena’s cheek, he was reluctant to bring Helena to the garden, but the sight of Helena’s tear made Edward agree without hesitation. “Ok but you have to be a good girl and drink your medicine without complaining, OK?” Helena’s eyes shone brighter than the star’s.”FOR REAL?!” she sat up looking at Edward strait in the eye. “Do you promise your honor?!” “Y-yes, i promise...now go to sleep it’s past your bedtime.” Edward tucked her in again. “Good night my precious little sister.” Edward left after kissing Helena’s head gently.
A night has passed as the bird’s sing loudly in the morning.
Helena got up early in the morning to get dressed when the door opened. “Who’s the most precious sister in the world?” Helena turned over to look at the man, it was William. Blonde, golden hair and dark blue eyes, wearing what seems to be a blue suit with a red tie. “Brother!!” Helena jumped at the sight of her brother hugging him tightly.
“Careful! You might collapse again!” William said with a concerned look on his face. “Brother will don't look at me like that, I'm totally fin-” she stumbled backwards, but before she fell, William grabbed hold of her. “I told you this was gonna happen.” William told the pale and sweaty faced Helena.
“Fine, I admit it, I got too excited.” Helena confessed.
“Brother, I'm fine now, see? Now lets g-” William looked at Helena strait in the eye. “Did you drink your ‘MEDICINE’???” Helena kept silent. With a wave of a hand the maids brought in the grossest medicine in the world. The color was red, you could even see the stench from how smelly it is.
After William forced Helena to drink the medicine they headed to the garden, with Helena talking non-stop about the new novel she had read, they had arrived. The front door was heavily guarded by royal guards wearing armor made of steel. The door was somewhat old, a brown frame with darker handles, and expensive carving carved on it.
