chapter 19

This is the one of the days Yedam was waiting for, the day he'll record a song with Doyoung again. The last time the two of them recorded was before even their group was formed. They had already recorded three songs together, for this song, Yedam did all the producing. All that he wants Doyoung to do is to sing the song with him.

All of them woke up late since they were tired from practice because after their surprise party for Jaehyuk yesterday, they decided to practice. It was 10 in the morning when Yedam woke up and decided to wake Doyoung up so they could record already.

He went into the maknaes' room, good thing the door was not locked. He saw the them sleeping except Jeongwoo who was nowhere to be found. 'Maybe he was downstairs already.' Yedam thought. He shaked Doyoung gently enough to wake him up.

"Hyung..." Doyoung's deeper voice greeted him, he sat up at his bed and rubbed his eyes.

"What are you doing here, hyung?" Doyoung asked, confused why was Yedam waking him up early in the morning.

"Doyoungie, you need to get up. You promised to record a song with me together, right?" Doyoung just nodded and told Yedam to wait him downstairs so they could have a breakfast first.

Doyoung was already seated in front of the condenser microphone. Yedam let him hear his demo first so they won't take much time in recording. The two of them already had breakfast before going to the music room to record.

"Doyoung, ready now?" Yedam asked as he adjusted his chair.

"Yes hyung." It was not the first time Doyoung records a song so he knows himself that he can manage to get it by two to three takes, but what he thought was wrong.

"Doyoungie, just relax okay? You can do this." Yedam asked softly. Doyoung relaxed more and breathed.

He sang the line again but he still couldn't sing the notes correctly. 'What's wrong with me today? Was I too nervous?' he thought. He was also surprised with himself why he can't sing the notes right. He prepared his voice again by shouting to cheer himself.

"One more time Doyoungie, you're near to perfect." Doyoung's sure that he got the notes right for this time but he's not sure why Yedam made him sing it once again.

"I don't wanna play no game, so that our relationship doesn't distant." Yedam sang it one more time so that Doyoung would sing the notes perfectly. Yedam concentrated and looked at Doyoung when he sang.

"A-ahhh, ok I get it now hyung." Doyoung relaxed more and closed his eyes to focus in singing his part. Yedam was now satisfied so they proceeded in the next part.

They spent the next thirty minutes recording Doyoung's part. Yedam already recorded his part but thought that he might do a better job now than before so he asked Doyoung to stay with him to help him.

The two of them exchanged seats. Yedam gave Doyoung a thumbs up as a go signal.

Yedam closed his eyes the time his mouth opened to sing. He felt the urge to cry so that Doyoung would know what he feels since the one he is offering the song to is him, the one and only Kim Doyoung. He wanted his bestfriend to know what he feels by this song. He opened his eyes as he continued to sing and took a look at him whose eyes closed, just enjoying both the song and Yedam's vocals.
