Max’s POV

As I watch Tom race towards the poor innocent girl, I can’t help but feel slightly sick. How can they not feel guilty? It’s murder after all, sure I liked the taste of blood the first time, but now it’s different, watching someone else do it, it’s just wrong. It’s like when a human eats meat, it’s all fine, but then when you watch someone actually murdering the animal and then watching them cook it, you can’t eat it. It’s wrong. You’ve seen the animal alive, if it’s already dead, then you don’t think about the life it once had. I suppose this is the same.

“Come on, let’s find some food” Nathan smirks, as he begins to make his way down the street.

“I can’t do this, Nathan” I tell him, as I take a step back.

“What do you mean, you can’t do this? This is what we are” he tells me, and I can tell he’s trying to change my mind.

“Don’t try and bring me down to your level, this is me and I don’t want this” I tell him and with that I turn around and make my way back to the bed and breakfast.

“Starve then” Nathan hisses after me.

“I would rather that, than murder an innocent human” I shout after him.

When I finally get back to the B&B, I quickly climb up the drain pipe, until I reach Jay’s window. I knock on the window waiting for the Jay to roll out of bed and open it, but after a couple of seconds, I realise something, something bad. I look through the window at the mess, which the room is in. This was Jay’s room wasn’t it? I then notice that his jacket is on the chair, which confirms it. The mattress has been thrown on the floor and there are things sprawled out everywhere. Where the hell is Jay? I suppose I better ask someone if they’ve seen him. I know Tom didn’t want us to go through the reception, but you know what? He’s not here and this is an emergency.

I open the door slowly and before it’s even finished opening, I hear a scream coming from inside. Once I get in I notice that the room is covered in blood and then nice family which owned the B&B are lying on the floor in a flood of blood. I then hear a laugh coming from one another room, behind the reception. I step over the four bodies, and I make my way down the small corridor. There’s a trail of blood leading towards one of the rooms. I kick the door open, to find the most horrific scene playing out in front of me. There in front of me are four female vampires, each standing over another person.

“I didn’t think I would see you again, Maxy boy” one of them laughs. It’s Shannen.

“I suppose we have to take him to Vlad now” another one adds.

“No, Beth” Shannen says, rolling her eyes.

“Oh come off it, Shan, we’re vampires, we don’t bow down to traitors” yet another one of them say, as they look up from their meal.

“No this one, is my friend. We need to protect him” Shannen says, which makes me smile a little.

“Are you kidding me? Vlad will slaughter all of us, if he finds out we’re helping the enemy” the one called Beth says, whilst leaning back down onto her person and begins to eat again.

“Not if he doesn’t find out, he won’t” Shannen says, with a smile. “Do you want to share?” she asks me, as points to her person, with a menacing smile.

“No thanks” I say, as I cringe slightly.

“Going dry, I see. Well you’ve got some guts, I’ll give you that” she says, before continuing to eat.

“Where’s Jay?” I ask them, as I shake my head at the thought of almost forgetting.

“The others took him” she says, as she looks back up at me.

“Where?” I ask them.

“That’s for us to know” one of the others say, as she stands up and leaves the dead body that she was feeding from, on the floor. She walks up to me with a smirk. She has brown hair and I swear I’ve seen her before. Maybe she was at the club too. “Rheanna, by the way” she says, as she pushes me against the wall and puts her hand out in front of her for me to shake it. I quickly do so and then she steps back again.

“We’ll take you to your friend if you want” Shannen says, as she too stands up and leaves her meal behind her.

“Alright then, but I need to get Tom and Nathan first” I tell them.

With that we all leave the B&B and the crime scene behind us and we hit the streets. I have to admit I’m not impressed with what these vampire women wear. It’s not like their all covered up like in the movies, they’re all in skimpy black outfits, with black eyeliner, and dark lipstick, but I suppose that’s just the way they are.

“Is that him” one of the other girls ask, as we approach the alley way. Tom is still crouching over the woman from before.

“Yes” Beth quickly butts in, as she rushes towards him.

“How does she know him” one of the others asks.

“Oh this is Nicky” Shannen tells me, obviously noticing the fact that I have no idea who the remaining two vampires are or even their names. “And you’ve met Beth, Rheanna and me” she says, and then she looks at the last one, who is staring at Tom.

“I’m Kristen” she says, and then she narrows her eyes at Tom. “And he’s supposed to be  mine” she says, in a challenging tone, as Beth stands over Tom and he slowly stands up and smiles at her, I see Kristen’s eyes turn to jealousy.
