Oh, by the way, original Jared is going to come back really soon! I'm also debating making this Kleinsen. You guys down for that? It won't be rushed or anything, it'll take a good while for them to get together. Just putting it out there. I'm not gonna ship Evan and Connor since Connor is dead, lmao.
"Dinner will be ready in ten minutes! I hope you're hungry!"
"Thanks, Heidi," Evan chuckled, dreadfully walking up the stairs that led to Jared's room.
"Why are you going to my room, anyway?" Jared asked. "You're lucky Alana hasn't noticed you up here yet."
It was this day when I kissed Zoe on Connor's bed. So for your dimension's translation, there's going to be a kiss between me and Alana on your bed, Jared.
"Oh shit," Jared mumbled.
"He doesn't even like Alana, either," Connor replied.
Jared rolled his eyes. "So you fuck with my family's perception of me, and then you go kiss my sister when you don't even have feelings for her. What's your problem?"
That's a good question.
Evan walked into Jared's room, the two spirits following him inside. He looked around at some books on the nearby bookshelf, seeing that they were identical to Connor's. Huh.
"Why are you in my brother's room?"
Alana scared Evan a little because he didn't even hear the door open, so he jumped back before nervously chuckling. "I was just waiting for-"
"Don't your parents get upset that you're here all the time?" Alana asked, crossing her arms.
Evan shook his head, looking down at the ground. "Well, it's- it's not like I'm... I'm not here all the time..."
"Just two nights in a row," Alana replied, glaring at him.
"Well, it's just... my- uh. My dad," Evan started, mentally hating himself for saying dad. This was still really weird. "He works late at night, or he's taking late classes..."
"Class for what?"
"Legal stuff."
Alana scoffed. "Where's your mom?"
"My mom?" Evan asked, a bit thrown off by that question. His mom. Probably the same scenario as his dad in the regular timeline, right? "My mom, she uh. She lives in Colorado. She left when I was seven, so... uh, she doesn't really mind either."
There was a bit of silence where they just kind of stood there. Jared and Connor were introduced to the new information that Evan's mom (Connor knew that it was really Evan's dad, but still) left him. Neither of them knew that before.
"Uh... your parents? They're..." Evan thought about Heidi for a bit before smiling a little. "They're really great."
"They can't stand each other," Alana replied, leaning against the wall. "They fight all the time."
Evan frowned. "Everyone's parents fight."
"Cynthia? She's like... in total denial," Alana said, glancing over at him. "She didn't even cry at the funeral."
"Geez, I would've thought Cynthia would be the more rational one," Jared mumbled. That got a chuckle out of Connor. "What?"
Connor shook his head. "Nothing."
"Heidi? She was saying uh... gluten free lasagna for dinner?" Evan tried to change the subject from Jared's death, because honestly, he really didn't want to talk about it. "That sounds really..."
