Aleisha got ready for the party and checked herself in the mirror.
She wore her black lace dress. She never wore this before and she felt awfully insecure about leaving her back open like that but tonight wasn't about her insecurities.
It was about doing things her old self would be too fearful to do.

And  for the love of god stop thinking about Paxton.
He's not thinking about you so you better stop thinking about him.

She went downstairs and saw Kira waiting for her in her original tank top and sweats.

She smiled.
If Kira wasn't so into being social she would have definitely invited her over to her friends group one day.
She was really witty too.

Speaking of her friends group, she really hoped they would be on speaking terms again.

Aleisha really missed her bestfriends.

It'll be fine, Aleisha.
Stop stressing.

The car ride to Dereks place took about half an hour. Aleisha kept thinking about fake scenarios in her head about what she would do if her parents found out.

Aleisha's Brain was so used to stressing that her life would be incomplete without it.

She didn't come up with any other solution but to head home as soon as possible.

"Don't drink too much. Try to say sober."
Kira teased when they arrived and the car was put to a stop.

Aleisha laughed.
"I'll try mom."

As soon as she waved goodbye to Kira, Aleisha rang the doorbell.

"Hey I remember you, come on in." Derek winked.

Aleisha stepped inside and was thrilled to see so many people.
It was her first time at an actual school party and she was feeling all giddy inside.

After a few glances here and there she was able to spot her friends.
Rhea and Jenny were sitting by the pool so Aleisha ran over to them.

"I really like your suit, Rhee."

Rhea and Jenny turned around and as soon as they saw Aleisha they glared.

Aleisha got why they were upset but she didn't understand why they were being so rude.

Maybe I should apologise.

"Listen guys I'm sorry I acted a certain way and I know how you feel.."

"No Aleisha you don't.."

At this rate Jenny was yelling and a few people Aleisha knew were beginning to stare.

"You don't have to yell Jenn.."

"No Aleisha I have to.You don't know how it feels especially when you're never there for your friends and we're always there for you.
You're too busy with your Popularity and Paxton to notice us."

Paxton who was flirting with Vanessa or some chick he didn't remember the name of, stopped to see what all this commotion was.

Everyone was staring by this time and Aleisha felt really uneasy with all eyes on her. She was a very anxious person and she felt really suffocated but she decided to hold it back.

"Popularity?  You think I want popularity?
I don't care about any of that and that's exactly why I came over tonight. To apologise to you guys."

"You don't care about us, Al. You just care about that dude Paxton. Oh and by the way tutoring him won't make him magically fall in love with you. This ain't no chick flick, Al. It's time you came back to reality." Rhea chimed in
