Long chapter ahead.
Beyoncé was on her way to the choir room for practice when Pastor Jones approached her. She looked at him in curiosity wondering why he needed to speak with her. Pastor Jones was a sweet man who loved everyone in his church as family.
"Beyoncé, how are you doing today?"
"I'm good, Pastor, how are you?"
"I'm blessed by the best. I wanted to ask you about gathering some songs for the church anniversary. We will be having guests from out of town coming to preach. I'd like to have two selections per day. The anniversary celebration will begin on Friday and end on Sunday."
"Sure Pastor, when do you want to go over the songs?"
"How about after Tuesday's rehearsal?"
"Sounds like a plan. Have a good evening." Beyoncé said, turning to walk away but Pastor Jones touched her arm.
"Beyoncé, I'm glad you and Michelle are together. You are good for each other. I know as the Pastor, I'm supposed to counsel you to be straight Christian women but I can see the love that you two have for one another. I just wanted to say that. Tell Michelle I said 'hello'."
"Thank you Pastor. I will relay the message and see you next Tuesday."
Pastor Jones was relatively on the young side and didn't hold many of the same beliefs as some of the older pastors. He was married with two children and one on the way. Pastor Antoine DeMarcus Jones was not like other Christian pastors who condemned those who were gay. He welcomed them with open arms into his church. He led with the belief which came straight from the bible that God loved the person and not the sin. So he followed God's word and embraced all those who wanted to be a part of Freedom Church.
Beyoncé went into the choir room and greeted everyone before putting her things away in the locker. She gathered her notes and papers to teach the new song she wanted the choir to learn. She looked down, closing her eyes silently praying. When she looked up her baby was smiling at her and mouthing the words "I Love You." The choir would be learning two Donald Lawrence songs, The Gift and The Blessing of Abraham as well as rehearsing Kirk Franklin and the Family's Now Behold the Lamb, Awesome by Pastor Charles Jenkins and Fellowship Chicago, Grace by T.D. Jakes and Ricky Dillard and New G God Is Great. It was something about when the choir sang Grace and Awesome that made the spirit in the room shift. The spirit was all up and through the choir room, everyone felt it. They made it through all the songs they needed to and Beyoncé ended rehearsal. Choir rehearsal lasted the normal two hours.
Upon leaving rehearsal Michelle and Beyoncé met at Beyoncé's house to eat dinner and just be up under each other. Beyoncé couldn't wait to share what the pastor had told her with Michelle. Parking in the garage both women entered the house and sat their things down. Immediately Michelle pulled Beyoncé in for a kiss. The kiss lasted for a few minutes before they broke apart to breathe. Beyoncé let Poppy out into the backyard then went into the fridge getting leftovers and made a plate for both of them. As the food was heating up, Poppy scratched at the back door. Once she was inside she sat patiently waiting for Beyoncé or Michelle to clean her paws. Poppy was so bourgeois but she loved both Beyoncé and now Michelle. Michelle wiped her paws while Beyoncé tended to their food, she also filled Poppy bowl.
The couple sat down, after they washed their hands, to eat dinner. It was a dinner filled with love and laughter. They quickly cleaned the kitchen and retired to the living room to watch a few shows that they had recorded on the DVR. While watching the first show Beyoncé paused it because she had forgotten to tell Michelle what Pastor Jones had said.
"I forgot to tell you something. So I was a little late coming in rehearsal because the pastor stopped and asked me to come up with six songs for the choir to sing for the anniversary celebration in a couple months."
