A Tiger Stole My Cat!

"Meow....Meow" I heard as my fluffy Sophie walked over my belly and jumped to the floor from my bed. "Sophie?!" I grumbled as I wiped sleep from my eye. "What are you up to?" I looked around the dark floor to see where she was off to, then I heard a low and scary growl.
I threw the cover my head!  That was Not Sophie!  I laid there for a moment hoping my camo blanket was hiding me well enough...  I heard a bump and a toy fall to the floor, and a quiet meow that sounded far away.  If Sophie isn't afraid, I guess it's safe enough to peek.
I lower the barrier below my eyes to see what might be waiting.  As I quickly scan the room I notice the moonlight coming through my open window.  Wait, Why is my window open? I thought.  I took a deep breath and decided to investigate further.  The cool breeze brushed through my hair as i walked closer to the window.  No sign of sophie, Wait!  What's That?!  I squinted and see the silhouette of a ... a .. TIGER?!  A Tiger and My Sophie are walking off into the dark!
I run to my parent's room and burst through the door, startling them to a sitting position.  "Whats Wrong??" mom squeaks out quickly.
"Mom! There is a Tiger outside!  And Sophie just went with it!"
"Braylon." mom responded, shaking her head slowly. "There are no tigers around here, you must have been dreaming."
"I'm Serious!  A tiger came through my window, befriended Sophie and they left!! A Tiger Stole My Cat!" I shouted feeling unheard.
"Honey, go back to bed and we'll see where Sophie went in the morning." she retorted before she lay back down.
With dad already snoring and mom clearly not believing me, I turned to go back to my room.  Maybe it was a dream, I thought to myself.
Making it back to my room I go to the window to close it, something catches my eye.  No Way! There's a small tuft of orange fur stuck in the corner of my window sill.  Mom isn't going to help me find Sophie tonight, but that's ok, I am a Great Adventurer! I'll just grab some gear and find her myself!
I grab my school bag and dump it out, colored pencils roll in all directions.. I'll pick those up before mom wakes up.. Gotta Find Sophie.  I throw some rescue mission essentials in my bag and grab my trusted dino flashlight, before I hop out the window.
Headed in the direction I last saw the culprit.  It's dark.  I pop open my dino's mouth to shine the light and it makes it's signature t-rex roar.  I flinch and look around.  shew.. that was a close one.  Shining my light through the dark, I walk the same direction I saw that kitty thief.  I came to a bridge over the creek, pointing my light forward I walk across slowly.  Suddenly i hear a roar in the distance! The Tiger!  I take off running towards the sound.
"Sophie! Hear Kitty!" I yell out.
Crash!  I fell onto the leaf covered ground.  I feel the cool breeze in my hair again, and then a cold nose touched mine.  "meow" I heard with my eyes still closed.
"Braylon, breakfast is ready." mom yells. she sounded close... whats she doing out here?
"Braylon?" She's even closer now.  I opened my eyes to see Sophie's fuzzy orange face in front of mine.
"What are you doing?" Asked mom in a confused tone.
I look up and see it"s morning now.  I look back at Sophie and pet her furry head.  "Hey! i found you!" i say to her as she purrs.
Mom giggles and says "Come on silly, breakfast is ready." as she walks out of the room.
I realize I'm back home and laying on top of my backpack.  "hmmm, did i dream all of that?" I ask in Sophie's direction.  I gather my colored pencils and zip my bag.  "Come on Soph."  I call to her.  Looking back to see if she's following I notice my stuffed tiger sitting next to the window... I shake my head and walk on the the kitchen.  Silly tiger stole my cat.

For my Imaginative, cat loving Braylon.
