It's now Saturday, three days since I met Carter at the coffee shop. He wasn't lying when he said he was going to make us be friends. We've texted quite a bit, he asks about Olivia constantly while I've refrained from asking about the mysterious man that came in beckoning him. He's decided they're going to fall in love, he will be my brother-in-law, and we'll be a perfect little family. He's found her Instagram and stalked her but didn't follow because he's going to make a move in person, so he says. He is actually such a fun person to talk to, and I find myself actually enjoying our friendship.
Obviously I've told Livvy what's going on, and she thinks it's hilarious. We came up with a plan that I was going to ask Carter to meet me at the coffee shop to study together today, and then she would happen to show up and catch him off guard.
When I get there I sit in the same booth as the last time, only I'm facing the door and the windows this, so I can see when he walks in and when Liv comes.
When he gets here I am greeted with a giant hug, and he gets comfortable across from me while pulling out his stuff to study. Since he's going into the medical field, he obviously has much more to study right now than I do. I feel like a surgeon isn't the first thing I'd think of when picturing him in a job based off of his looks and goofy personality, but he seems pretty passionate about it. We start studying, or at least I try to, but he ends up talking so much that I can't focus. I think that's why it's so easy to be friends with him. He talks so much there's barely ever time for me to respond or for there to ever be an awkward silence.
After about an hour I see Livvy walk in grinning like a cheshire cat. She wouldn't tell me her plan this morning, so I have no idea what she about to do. She walks up to the booth, passing his side like he isn't there and slipping into my side. She grabs my head and turns it, so I'm facing her and kisses me. After a few seconds she pulls back and says "Hi babe I've missed you" and finally acknowledges him by extending her arm across the table to shake his hand and introduce herself. "Olivia Roads nice to meet you."
I look over at him and his jaw is on the floor. "I told you we don't share well," I said, snapping him out of whatever trance he was in.
It takes him a few seconds before he finally responds with,"I'm going to change my offer of a threesome into you two fucking and me watching." The whole time he's talking his wiggling his eyebrows, making all three of us laugh. "Carter Daniels, nice to meet you as well love." He kisses her extended hand instead of shaking it. "Seriously, I love you both."
"That is quite the enticing off Carter, but little ol Addie's love life could never handle me in it. She has enough of her own boy problems without me contributing." Livvy, someone who has never met a stranger and will always get to know everyone, likes to include me into that and share lots of details about my life. She then proceeds to tell Cater all about my situationship with Hudson. She also fills him in and describing what happened Wednesday morning while I bury my head in my hands.
After about two hours of talking, Cater says he's now too invested, and not only does he need to see pictures of him, but he has to meet him for himself. Livvyy decides that tonight would work perfect since the three of us aren't busy, it's a Saturday night and it will be the perfect scenario for Carter and Hudson to meet over game night and drinking. The idea of Husdon meeting Carter is a little concerning because Husdon can be a hard person to get along with and Carter is so extremely goofy.
I push my panic aside after Carter ensures he'll be on his best behavior and Lainey promises to not make any sexual jokes. The rest of our study date is spent laughing, talking, and planning game night. It's decided that Carter is going to go get the alcohol, I'm going to get snacks, and Livvy is in charge of going to clean up the house.
