Chapter One: The Past

Twenty Years Before
"Calvin, why did I have to wait centuries to find you?" Thea asks her mate who was rubbing her swollen tummy. He looks up at his mate out of confusion. He was curious why she wanted to talk about that now. They've been together for almost a year now. "Well love, the Moon Goddess chose when we'd meet. We must believe in what she chose was right." He explains softly as he continues to rub his mates swollen tummy. He felt another kick from his daughter. "I know. I just...I wish we could of known each other sooner is all." She simply says.

"Thea, is everything alright?" He questions in concern. She nods as she looks down at her stomach. "Can we go on a run Calvin?" She asks excitedly. Her wolf and her have craved nothing more than a run recently. Not even a run necessarily knowing that Calvin and his wolf would never allow them to run while pregnant, but to be in wolf form. His eyes narrow knowing she is aware of the breaches by the hunters recently. He thought the name of his land, "No Mans Land" was enough to spook them away. Especially the background he has as Rogue King.

He may be Rogue, but he does have ties with packs nearby. Especially Thea's old pack. He has ties with them and visits them with his mate regularly because they are family to his mate and him. "I don't know Thea." He murmurs. "Please. It feels like ages since I've shifted. I just want to shift. We don't have to run. I know being pregnant and all with our little pup, it would be dangerous running, but we could walk around." She says and he bites his lip as he thinks about it.

"And today with all her activity, maybe I should shift rather do it when I'm in labor. Maybe I'll go into labor soon." She says softly yet excitedly as she looked down at her swollen tummy. Their little pup has been really active today compared to the rest of the pregnancy when she was practically silent.  They can remember when Thea wasn't feeling any kicks or movement, they panicked, but the doctor simply said she was a pup who liked to sleep a lot and relax. So, it soothed their nerves to know their pup was growing up.

"Fine." He sighs as a small smile reaches his lips hearing her squeal of excitement. "Let's go!" She says excitedly and he nods as he follows her through the mansion of theirs that was called the palace. Their was two more mansions nearby that were houses for the Rogues apart of the kingdom.  They get outside and head towards the tree line where they strip from their clothes and shift into their wolves. She started to walk ahead of him, knowing once he is shifted that he will follow.

She reached the meadow and looked around with soft eyes. Her wolf felt ecstatic about being able to shift. That's all she wanted in a long time. She walks out towards the middle of the field and lays down as she feels a pain ripple through her...a contraction. She lays out as contractions ripple through her and she kept trying to reach Calvin, but he was in another mind link so he wasn't even feeling her attempts. It may of been two hours later and she was licking clean her pup, still trying to reach Calvin who now had every link block.

Calvin was looking around the borders with his Beta, Carson, for the hunters that breached their land. Suddenly he felt a pain ripple through him causing him to howl. Carson tensed, knowing what this meant...the Rogue Queen was harmed. More howls, thousands of them, were heard from the kingdom as everyone shifted and ran towards the meadow where they heard a weak howl from their Rogue Queen not long after theirs and Calvins howl.

They run to see the hunters dragging away their weak Rogue Queen who still put up quite a fight against the hunters who held her pup who whined and pawed at them so she could get to her mother. The hunters slowly turned around hearing the snarls and growls from the wolves behind them. "There is no way we can take them." A younger hunter says. "Let's just leave the mother and take the pup and go." The leader of the hunters says. Calvins snarls loudly while he steps forward seeing his pup in his arms. Two packs that are nearby heard their howls quickly join Calvins side, snarling seeing the pup Calvin and Thea have waited ever so patiently for being held by a bunch of hunters.
