Chapter 7 - Harry Potter

The video above is the song that Nathan plays in the car later in this chapter. 

It's such a cute song and made me think of Nathan and Jacob so I had to put it in the story xD

"So are your friends coming over here or are you gonna go to one of their houses," my mom asked as she washed the dishes. I was sweeping the kitchen trying to be helpful. It was the afternoon already and neither Nathan or Sian had texted me yet. I was contemplating on texting them first but if they wanted to talk then they would have texted me right? Maybe they don't want to hang out anymore.

"Uh I don't know, I'll probably go to one of theirs," I answered hopefully. I didn't really want them to come over here. I knew my mom was gonna make a big deal and probably embarrass me. Also the thought of having people in my bedroom made me uncomfortable.

She hummed, disappointed. "I wanna meet them."

"I know mom. You will soon don't worry," I lied to make her feel better.

Don't get me wrong, I love my mom and I want her to meet them eventually but she had no chill. She'd probably blabber on about them being my only friends and embarrass me. Plus I haven't even known them for that long. Who knows if they even plan on being long term friends with me.

I swept the pile of trash into the dust pan, then dumped it into the trashcan by the fridge. "I'm gonna go watch tv," I mumbled to my mom and headed up the stairs.

Once I was in my room I headed to the window and cracked it open. It was drizzling outside and I loved the smell of rain. Staring out the window, I watched the rain drops splatter onto the concrete. I always found the rain to be so peaceful. I wish it would snow already though.

We had moved here in the beginning of summer so I haven't been able to witness the snow yet. Sometimes, at night when it got real cold outside it would snow a little, but not enough for it to stick to the ground.

My phone vibrated inside of my pocket, pulling me out of my thoughts.

I pulled it out to see a message from Nathan.

Its cool if we watch the movie at my place?

I chewed my nail nervously. I really didn't think he was gonna text me.

Yeah, that works:)

I sent the reply back. Was the smiley face too much? I don't want to seem too eager.

My phone buzzed in my hand.

Cool, I'll pick you up in 20 minutes😊

His choice of emojis made me smile.

I put my phone down on my bed and rushed to my closet to find something to wear. He was gonna be here in twenty minutes. Oof. Not much of a heads up but that's okay.

I grabbed a pair of black joggers, a metallica band shirt, and a dark grey hoodie. Good enough, I guess. After changing I went to the bathroom to try to fix my hair but I never really knew what to do with it and ended up leaving it how it was. I put on some deodorant and sprayed myself with some cologne.

I grabbed my backpack and put my Harry Potter DVD collection inside. I double checked to make sure I had what I needed before heading downstairs.

"You leaving," my mom asked as she looked up at me. "Yeah, ima watch a movie with Nathan and Sian. That's okay right," I had forgot to run it by her but she wasn't controlling like that. I never really had to get approval when I wanted to leave the house. She just liked to know that I was safe.
