-A/N: THIS WHOLE BOOK IS IN THE GIRLS POV-
I woke up in a box, with a terrible pain in my head. It didn't seem like it was caused by the noise of the box, the squeaking and grinding. It seemed more like someone had smashed me in the head with a hammer. "What the hell...?! Where am I?!" I ask, and there is obviously no answer.
The box I'm in is shooting up towards the sky, but if it didn't slow down, or stop, it would hit the roof of whatever I am in.
To my luck, it does stop right at the top. I sit there for a minute or two, just waiting. Someone opens the box, and a ray of light bursts into my vision. I cover my eyes with my arms, then I adjust to it after a minute or so.
Someone jumps in beside me, then mutters: "It's a bloody girl..." He has a thick accent. He just stares at me in shock while speaking. The boy had long blonde hair, shoulder length.
I back away from him and search around behind me for something I can use against him. Something touches my palm as I lay it on the ground quickly. Perfect. A dagger. I smirk and grab it, then hold it under his chin. "
You better tell me where the hell I am or else I swear I'll kill you. Right here. Right now." He looks at me, as if seeing if I was telling the truth. He must've notice that I had fright in my eyes amongst the glare.
"Okay," he put his hands up in surrender, "You're in the Glade. Now please... Put the dagger down..." I lower it slowly, but if he tries anything I'll kill him. "You're bloody insane..." He says and backs away a bit. "What's the Glade?" I ask in a rough tone.
"Well, it's where we live. Now tell me, do you remember anything about yourself, greenie?" He asks. I tried to think. No. I couldn't remember anything about me. How could that be possible? I don't know my name, my age, what I look like, or anything.
"No..." I say quietly. "Okay. Hey, listen. It's normal. It happens to all of us , okay?" He tells me. "Fine." I say then stand up. "Get me out of this stupid box." I tell him, then the guys up there lower a rope down for me.
I climb out before the blonde haired boy does. I looked around and saw all boys. "Why are there only guys here?!" I ask. "Alright, listen. We don't know anything about anything. So don't ask questions." He says, then suddenly I feel like punching him. But I felt like if I did, I'd get attacked by 40 guys.
I looked around and saw stone walls. Somehow, I knew about the maze. I knew everything about it. I knew the patterns, the way out, everything. "Hey, why are we in here when we could be outside the maze...? What's wrong with out there?" I ask, then everyone looks at me, jaws dropped. "How'd you know about the maze, greenie?" The blonde one asks. "You didn't? And hey. I never got your name." I tell him, he replies with the same thick accent "Yes, we knew about it. Just, no greenie knows anything about it. The names Newt." He says, then holds a hand out for me to shake. "Okay. Well then why do I know about it? You're acting like you've never gotten out of here..." I shake his hand. "That's cause we haven't...." Newt says quietly, still studying my face. "Well, that's about to change."
