The sound of steps and people talking echoed in the dark alley of an enormous city in Japan, and in that same place, a dark-haired girl was lying on the floor, completely unconscious.
The girl interrupted the silence of the alley, moaning, while her eyes started to open with difficulty, with the urge to blink a few times to clarify the blurry panorama she was seeing, besides the disorientation that she was feeling. Once her vision cleared, she looked all around the place, analyzing everything she could, watching the dark alley she was in, with some containers and cats on them, amongst the normal street at the end of the alley, filled with food shops, restaurants, and all illuminated by various types of colored light. A very sharp pain invaded the whole head of the girl, and she realized the blood was coming out of a large wound that was starting to create a large puddle beneath her, soaking her clothes.
— Fuck. — complained, placing her hand on the wound to stop the excessive blood drainage.
Once she saw that her hand wasn't enough, she tore off a piece of the huge t-shirt she was wearing to wrap her head and the injury. With the improvised band finally set, the girl tried to get up, but because of the dizziness produced by the lack of blood, she failed every attempt to stand up.
— This has to be a joke. — Mumbled, laying her body on the floor and giving up.
On the floor, the girl let out a sigh and slowly closed her eyes while softly cradling her head and massaging it.
Not knowing how much she was sleeping, suddenly she opened her eyes.
A massive feeling of ailment through her entire body, and a tickling crossed her entire body; seconds passed, and all of that was still hitting her. That's why suddenly her stomach scrambled and inevitably threw up in the middle of the alley.
She felt as if it had no end, but surprisingly, when everything that was in her stomach was out, she started to feel a little better. With her new condition, crawling, she approached the wall, and with the help of this, she could get up. She felt a little dizzy, but nothing compared to what was before.
Once stood, the girl tried to remember what happened to her, but not a single memory came to her, and a feeling of frustration invaded her.
— This is a shit. — Shouted kicking the container without much thought, a strong pain appeared in her foot and spread around her ankle. She sighed and leaned her back against the wall, not knowing what to do. She was alone, disoriented, and apparently with some kind of amnesia.
The pain in her feet was still bothering her, so she crouched down to massage it a little. Once on the floor, something caught her attention; a precious silver bracelet was lying on the floor next to the puddle of blood where she was stretched.
Hypnotized by it and completely forgetting her hurt foot, she walked slowly towards it.
It took only a few steps to reach it and pick it up with her trembling hands, feeling a small pang in her heart, rebellious tears sliding down her cheek. An enormous sadness with an unknown origin of these feelings that was encroaching on her.
Without a single word, she analyzed every single detail of the object; it was beautiful; the chain was created by pearls, shells, and little starfish; with all these elements, a name was written; Dai was the name inscribed on the little metal plate located at the center of the bracelet.
— Who the fuck is Dai? It doesn't feel like my name, but I know deep in me this is mine. — She placed the object on her wrist; it felt like it was where it needed to be; it felt right having it, and it certainly decreased the anxiety installed in her body since she woke up.
Some steps interrupted the inspection of her bracelet.
— Hey, I am bored; what do you think if we go for some fun at the casino? — Sound a voice not too far from there.
— Yeah, dude, that would be funny.
Immediately the girl took a step back, with intentions of leaving, but she collided with something on the floor that hit the container and made a loud sound, attracting the attention of the two men.
— Bad luck. — Whispered to herself, not knowing where to go.
— Have you heard that, Andrew?
— Yes, it comes from there.
Not knowing what to expect from two unknown men in an alley and a girl alone, she started running to another alley connected to where she was, intending to evade possible future problems. She heard another step also running behind her; that made her panic more.
What she wasn't counting on was that her body wasn't in the conditions of running or fighting, which was why at some point the feet started to hurt again, the dizziness invaded her, and inevitably she was again on the ground.
Minutes passed, and the girl saw two feet in front of her and a laugh echoing through the alley.
— Finally something interesting after a night so boring. —Without knowing she could do something, the man turned to her to make her see him and started to touch her pockets. —Nothing? Really?
— Leave me alone! Asshole — Tried to fight and pushed him, but because of her dizziness and physical pain, it was a futile attempt.
— Be fucking calm and don't move. — He punched her, advertising her. — You are a fucking useless; well, at least let's see what you have here.
He started to take off the shirt from the trembling girl, who looked terrified at what he was doing. Tears were falling from her eyes, and even if she wanted to use her hands to defend herself, it was impossible for her because of her wrist being subjected.
The shirt was already on the floor, leaving her in a bra.
— Stop! Fucking stop now! — Shouted to the point where her voice broke, she screamed until the crying made her voice tremble. She screamed and screamed.
The pants were now on the floor, and the feeling of defeat was winning amongst all.
But suddenly, some steps came to their location, alerting both of them.
— We are busy here; leave now if you don't want to get beat. — Warned to continue with what he was doing.
— I walk where I fucking want. And do you think you can beat me? Little shit like you, huh, don't make me laugh.— The person answered in a bored voice.
— OK, if you say so!!!! — Answered in anger, and after he said that, he ran towards the person, only to be thrown back with such force that he crashed into the end of the alley, his face covered in blood.
The girl, confused, looked at him, and finally, red eyes met her violet eyes; one of the two hearts speeded a little faster than it should.
