(Warning: a bit of blood)
As the ground got closer, fear became more present. There was nothing I could do, except accept my fate as I plummeted down to the solid earth. I did what I usually did in times I'm scared, I count the things I live (or lived) for.One. My little sister.
Two. My best friend.
Three. My pets.
Four. My pride.
I shut my eyes tight as the ground was only a few seconds away.
Five....
But that's just it. The list stopped there. Surely my list would be okay if I'm gone.
Finally, after what felt like forever, my body smashed into the ground making a large hole from the impact. My eyes slowly opened and I realized I wasn't dead.
"That's impossible," I whispered to myself, "A fall from that height should have killed me. So why am I still alive?"
I moved the slightest bit, but something didn't feel right. I rolled onto my side but then screamed in pain as it came from my left arm. I looked over and saw that my shoulder was in a place I knew it shouldn't be. It was definitely dislocated. I tried to stand but even moving my arm the tiniest bit sent a wave of intense pain.
"Come on Seven," I heaved to myself, "you gotta suck it up for just a minute so you can climb out of this hole."
I tore off a small piece of my short sleeves and stuffed it into my mouth. Then, taking a deep breath and biting down hard on the cloth, I climbed out of the hole using everything but my left arm, trying to hold in my yelps the whole way. I flopped onto my back once I made it up, however, not being as careful as I should have been, my arm had a second of impact against the ground causing me to scream and caress it.
I had never dislocated or broken anything before, so this was excruciating.
Once the pain had settled down a little bit, I finally managed to take in my surroundings. My head was light and my vision blurry, but I knew a forest when I saw one. Yet something about it seemed so....
animated.I looked at the grass underneath me, and it was almost real but not quite. The next thing, though, really filled my mind with questions. I looked at my alright hand, and it was animated too! And the clothes I was wearing, they weren't at all what I selected for my character.
In fact, these clothes were a bit too revealing for my taste. But it was not the time to be picky.
I rolled onto my good side, biting down on the sleeve still in my mouth as it still was excruciatingly painful to move. I propped myself up using a tree, and leaned against it, breathing heavily. My mind was still fuzzy, it was hard to think straight, but I'm pretty sure I heard voices coming from deeper into the woods.
