"Spiritual." I heard a co-worker call out making me raise one eyebrow. I was on the way to my lunch break and I swear today has been so busy I haven't been able to go.
I turned around and seen it was my favorite Doctor Raymond, "What's up Ray." I said stuffing my phone in my scrub pockets.
I'm 21 years old and I'm a registered nurse, at this Eskenazi Hospital. I've been working here for about 8 months and my hours are fairly crazy.
"Where you heading too?" He asked starting to walk with me with a clipboard in his hand.
"Hopefully my lunch. What's up?"
He looked at me, "I hate to bring bad news, but that's gonna have to hold off."
I froze in my footsteps, "Oh my gosh what?" I said crossing my arms. "I should've been at lunch a hour ago..."
He sighed, "I know I know I'm sorry. I just really need you to go take somebody blood for me."
"Diamond is over there."
He chuckled, "Come on Spiritual...please." He said giving me these puppy dog eyes. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"Fine man but after that I'm going to lunch, don't ask me for shit else." I snatched the clipboard out his hand and started looking for which room I was going to.
"Thanks Spiritual I owe you one."
"You owe me a lot." I mumbled starting to walk to the patient room. I felt my phone vibrate so I placed my airpod in and picked up the call.
"Man what you want?" I asked answering my best friend Autumn call. "Bitches wanna play rookie and leave me alone on this busy ass day."
"Isn't Diamond there?"
"Fuck Diamond, she in one of her moods. I wanna slap her ass." I mumbled rolling my eyes. "Man I was supposed to go to lunch a hour ago and just as I got some free time to go Raymond bright ass tells me to go draw blood."
She laughed, "When you get off?"
"In three more hours...I've been here since 5."
"Damn you did a 12 hour shift today?"
"Yeah, you was supposed to with me, but noo bitches wanna play sick and shit."
Autumn was also a registered nurse, she's the one who put me on at this hospital, considering she's a year older.
"Come on I'll make it up to you."
"You gone eat my coochie?" I asked joking knowing she hates when I act Gay. I ain't gay though, I strictly like dick.
She gagged, "Umm don't you have to go help a patient."
"Yeah hold up I'm finna put my airpod in my pocket."
