Chapter Five

"What's with you woman taking so long to get ready? We're just going to be training not attending a beauty padgent," Ace said

"Not all of us want to look like the walking dead in the morning, Ace. Besides, just because we're training doesn't mean I can't look my best to kick your ass," Y/N said smirking in the mirror as she brushed her H/C locks.

Ace then walked right beside her and stared at himself in the mirror. Once you set the hairbrush down, Ace picked it up, took off his hat, and started brushing his black hair. Y/N looked at the mirror as well and sighed. The first thing she saw was the HUGE height difference. She only reached Ace's shoulder in heighth. Why couldn't Y/N take after her father and be tall?

"Y/N, whats this stuff?" Ace asked as he wrote on her mirror with the black makeup

"Ace! You idiot! Thats masscara! How am I going to get that off of there now?!" You shreiked

Ace had realized what his curiosity caused, and started laughing, "I'm sorry, Y/N! How about I buy you lunch after we train?" Ace suggested

"You mean steal?" Y/N corrected him, and Ace nodded

"Well we should get going." Ace said

The both of you walked to your bedroom door and tried to walk out of it at the same time. You shoved Ace on the floor with your strength, and walked out.

"Well damn." Ace said getting up and dusting himself off.

Timeskip~

Ace an you had been out in the woods sparring with each other for five hours. Ace had started a forest fire, but luckily with your devil fruit you put it out easily. Ace was no doubt stronger than you, but that didn't mean he won every round. It was 50-37. After taking some time to figure out how you used your devil fruit, Ace was finally ready to show you some different ways and attacks.

"Alright Y/N, since you're a water user, and I'm a fire user our moves and abilitys will obviously be polar opposites," Ace said "What I'm not understanding about your powers is why your eyes glow teal? For example when I woke you up yesterday, you were so pissed your eyes were glowing teal and lit up the whole room," Ace said

"Over the years, I've learned a couple of things when my eyes do that. First, certain emotions trigger this like anger or sadness, second, when my eyes do that I'm way stronger than I am orignally, and third when my mother was pregnant with me, she was at her prime with the Aqua Aqua fruit. Her eyes would turn teal when she would fight. Dad had said she was almost as strong as one of the sea kings. She passed some of her strength onto me, which I never thought was possible. Dad had also told me the Aqua Aqua fruit wasn't only meant for water. Mom was able to turn the water into lava, and control the rain!"Y/N exclaimed

Ace's eyes were huge. How could Y/N's mother have been that powerful? Devil fruit users could pass some of their powers onto their children? Y/N was able to conrtol the weather and lava?! How could this girl be so awesome, without even using that part of her power yet?

"Alright, Y/N. It's settled. In this one month, we will make you stronger than you are now." Ace announced

Y/N admired the cowboy's peronsallity when he was serious. It was like he had the power to make everyone follow his every command without him directly saying that line. Y/N didn't nessicarily hate Ace. She was just scared. Not of Ace of course, but the thought of him leaving one day, or not wanting to be friends anymore. She had learned over the years if she became to close to someone, they would eventually leave. It was only a matter of time before he would anyways. The thought of their friendship ending one day was making tears form into Y/N eyes. Even thought they weren't friends for very long, she felt like she knew him before they met.
