It’s been about 4 months since I moved here now. I’m slowly settling in to the house, and school. I’ve met up with Gemma, and she introduced me to her friend Alex. They’re both lovely people. We’ve all got together as a little group and we’re really good friends with one another. I’ve been seeing Skip every weekend. We kind of promised that every weekend we see each other, and let nothing get in the way of that. And so far, the promise has not been broken. I have to admit, the annoying thing about me and Skip is that we haven’t even confirmed a relationship. Like, I don’t even know if he likes me to the full extent that I like him. This is what I’ve found complicated lately. Not a lot has gone on between me and Sam though; we’ve pretty much broken up seen as though he has a new girlfriend, ‘Michaela’. It doesn’t bother me though, I thought it would but it really doesn’t. After he called me a slut, it was just a big no no. I’ve become really close with Luke and James though. They’re like the bestest friends ever. Yes, that's not a word I know.
Mom, Dad and I are all sat in the lounge, watching ‘Slum dog Millionaire’. I love this film like so much, it’s a bit upsetting but I still enjoy it. We’re getting up to the bit where the boy finds the girl for the first time in ages. I’m sat all cuddled up in my onesie, when all of a sudden I hear a car beep from outside our house. We all sit there confused, and Dad pause’s the DVD whilst I go check out what's going on. I peer through the curtains, and Beau’s car is parked up, at the end of our path. I close the curtains back up and turn to my family, hidden in the dark.
“Guys, just press play. I’ve seen it before, I don’t mind missing this.” My parents play the DVD with no hesitation. I stroll out into the darkness of the night and the window of the car rolls down. Beau’s sat there, one hand on the wheel and he’s leaning over to view my face.
“Are you just going to stand there, in the cold? Or are you gonna hop on in?” He asks.
“Beau, its,” I look down at my phone and then back up to him, “11:06 and you want me to go somewhere with you?” He just looks at me, not responding but raises his eyebrows, and Skip appears from in the back of the car. “Skip!” I shout and open the back door, leaning in to hug him. He hugs me back so tight; I can’t catch my breath properly. “What's going on?!”
“Well,” He says, getting out of the car, “My parents have gone away for a bit, and I need a place to stay. I tried the Brooks and the Yammounie household, but they won’t let me stay, so do you think the Roberts would let me in, or am I going to have to sleep on your porch roof?” He steps closer to me, and starts sending me the puppy dog eyes. How can I say no? He’s alone, cute, and well its Skip, how can I turn him down.
“Come on then.” I can’t believe I’m buying this. We say our goodbyes to Beau, and I take Skip by the hand and lead him towards the house, as if he’s a toddler. We come to the door, and he spins me round, his hands still attached to mine. He kisses me on the lips, and we stand there for a good few minutes, just kissing in the dark. I pull away, and give him a soft peck on his lips, and turn back and open the door. I let free of his grasp and pretty much plant it on my parents that Skip’s staying for a few nights. Dad doesn’t look too impressed, but hey-ho he’ll get over it. I walk into my room with Skip, and try and pull out a blow up mattress from out of the top of my wardrobe, but I’m too small. I keep trying, until I give up and turn to Skip.
“So, you’re just going to stand there, watching me struggle to reach for your mattress?” I say to him. He just wanders to my bed, and lies down on it. He closes his eyes.
“I don’t get why you’re getting something for me to sleep on, when there's a double bed right here, capable for the both of us?” He turns onto his side, resting his head on the palm of his hand. I just scowl at him. He’s such a cheeky fucker. I close the wardrobe all up, and lie on my bed next to him, but not super close.
