Mall

The next day school went on as usual. After what Edward had said, Dylan really started to creep me out. He was always looking at us, like a lion observing its prey.
Edward of course noticed how uncomfortable I was, but he was glad to see that.
“You’re really listening to me, huh?” Edward mumbled to me when he caught me looking away from Dylan, avoiding him.
“Well he’s creeping me out,” I mumbled back, lowing my voice as he was walking pass us, “Why is he looking at us – particularly me – like that?”
“Just avoid him,” Edward replied and said no more.
Whenever Dylan was around, I got so stressed out. I was so jumpy all day and really tired.
“You’ve had a hard day,” Edward said when he was walking me home, “How about going to the mall? I’ll treat you to an ice-cream.”
I paused for a moment, “Sure,” I agreed to the plan, as it was Friday. I called Mum telling her what I was going to do with Edward, and of course Mum was more than delighted to hear that. She really liked Edward.
We passed the park on our way to the mall. The day I met Edward replayed in my head.
“You remember the day we first met?” Edward asked me, smiling to himself.
“Yeah of course,” I said, “You were trying so hard that day.”
“It sounds cheesy but it was love at first sight; and I was right, not only do you look beautiful, you ARE beautiful,” I looked up at him, and he held my gaze. I seemed to have lost myself in his green eyes. I blushed a little.
“Cute,” he smirked when he saw me blush. I blushed even more, so I decided to look away from him.
“I’m quite sure I’ll make you fall in love with me before the deadline,” he continued, “I love you and, don’t deny it; I know you like me too. You’re honestly the kindest and nicest girl I’ve ever met. And the prettiest.”
I rolled my eyes at him, although hearing him say those words, especially those three words containing eight letters which sent butterflies wild in my stomach, made my heart melt a little.
At last we arrived at the mall. There were quite a lot of people, mostly teenagers, seen as it was Friday.
Edward looked at me and then grabbed my hand. I raised an eyebrow at him, and he said, “I don’t want you to get lost okay; there’re so many people here!”
“I’m not a five-year-old Edward,” I sighed, but let him hold my hand anyway. He fitted his fingers in the spaces between my fingers.
“People are going to think of us as a couple,” I said, looking around and feeling a bit uneasy. It felt weird being this close to Edward in public other than at school.
“That’s the impression we want people to get, isn’t it?” he said, and I could tell that he was smiling, “And what if there’re people from our school?”
“Alright,” I looked up at him, “So where to go now?”
“Let’s have ice-cream!” he grinned, and he seemed very excited at the idea of eating ice-cream, just like a little child. He could be cute at times, although he sometimes got on my nerves.
On our way to the shop, I noticed some girls checking Edward out. I knew I should not feel this, but I felt annoyed and my stomach felt a bit uneasy when girls did that. I glanced at Edward, and he did not seem to notice those girls throwing smiles at him.
We got to the shop and I looked at the many flavors of ice-cream in the freezer.
“I want the cotton candy one,” I said, “But then I also want the bubble gum one.”
“Do you want a double scoop?” Edward asked me, “And actually I want those two too.”
“No, that’ll be too much,” I shook my head. And Edward was the one paying so I did not want to take advantage of him too.
“Maybe we can order both and share,” Edward suggested, his face lighting up.
“Okay,”
So we ended up ordering both flavors, and we found a table to sit down.
“Which one do you want?” Edward held out the two cups of ice-cream.
“You choose,”
“Alright then, I’ll have the bubble gum one,” he pushed the cotton candy one to me, “Can I try yours now?” he asked, smirking at me like he had something funny in mind.
I pushed my ice-cream to him slightly to let him spoon the ice-cream, but he did not move, but just broadened his smile, “Feed me,”
I rolled my eyes at him again, but did it anyway. All the while he held my gaze and grinned at me seductively. Then he fed me with his ice-cream, and licked the remaining ice-cream on his spoon which I had just used.
“Okay that looks a bit gross,” I told him, pulling a face. When I continued with my own ice-cream using my spoon he had just used, he laughed.
“What’s so funny?” I asked him.
“We basically just kissed!” he laughed again.
“You’re crazy,”
We finished our ice-cream and we decided to go home as we had used a lot of time on eating and joking.
When we were about to reach the exit, I spotted Dylan a few shops away with his guy friend. I tensed up and pulled on Edward’s hand which was holding my hand. He looked at me questioningly, and I gestured to him in Dylan’s direction.
“Oh no,” he gasped, and we sped up. I leaned closer to Edward, clutching on his arm with my free hand. He tightened his grip on my hand. Before we made our exit, I thought I saw Dylan spot us. My heart was beating frantically although I did not know why we should run away from him like he was some sort of monster.
When we were on my street again, Edward finally slowed down as he was afraid that Dylan might come after us. He certainly did not want him to know about my address.
“Why do we have to get away from him like that?” I said, amused, as I also felt the need to avoid him even though I had no idea why.
“Just be thankful that he didn’t follow,” Edward said, a hint of relief in his voice.
I noticed that I was still clutching Edward’s arm. I quickly let go but our hands remained linked.
We arrived at my home, and Mum invited Edward in, wanting to let Edward taste her freshly baked carrot cake.
“(Yn),” Edward suddenly asked when we were at the kitchen table, waiting for Mum to cut the cake, “Do you want to watch a movie with me tomorrow night?”
“At your place again?” I asked, thinking of the previous experience. I blushed a little just thinking of the awkward situation on that day.
“No, at the cinema,” he said.
“(Yn),” Mum came and placed our plates in front of us, “You should go with Edward; because I was going to tell you your dad and I are going on a date tomorrow! I was planning to ask if you would like to hang out with Edward tomorrow night.”
“Okay then, you will have to agree to it now; you wouldn’t want to stay home alone at night right?” Edward winked at me.
“Yeah yeah, I’ll go,” I replied.
“So when will you and Mr. (your last name) leave tomorrow?” Edward asked Mum.
“Around three, as we’ll need to travel quite a long way, and actually you don’t have to come home so early (Yn), we might come home late,”
“Alright, so I’ll pick you up at three tomorrow,” Edward turned to me.
“Good, and thanks for taking care of her Edward!” Mum said, and walked out of the kitchen.
“I’m more than happy to do that,” Edward grinned.
“What are we going to watch?” I asked when Mum was away, “No horror movies okay.”
Edward chuckled, “Whatever you like, and we’ll have dinner afterwards okay?”
“Right,” at least the same awkward situation would not happen again.
When we had finished the cake and talked a bit more, Edward stood up, “I think I should go now; dinner will be ready soon,”
“Okay,” I followed him to the door. He kissed my cheek before leaving.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he smiled at me.
“See you,” I smiled back at him.
I went up to my room to text Chloe.
“WOW THAT SOUNDS GREAT (YN)!!!!!!!!!!” she seemed excited about my date with Edward tomorrow.
“Calm down!”
“I can feel something will happen 2morrow”
“Good or bad?”
“It’s gonna end up great, don’t worry – who knows if u will end up getting a boyfriend? ;)”
“Shut up!” I replied, but could not help grinning. What was wrong with me?
“Well from what u hv told me about 2day he seems really sweet – if u don’t want him give him 2 me kay? ;)”
“U’re helpless”
To be honest, I was quite looking forward to tomorrow.
